Yup tried all that, reinstalled office but still the same. Elite is fine in Fullscreen/Borderless/Windowed (with TCE off or hidden). Tried disabling avast, no change. Even loaded Excel on its own after starting Elite and it's fine. Ran diagnostics in Excel, all is fine (even though i just reinstalled it). Haven't played in a while and only thing i've changed is i bought an x52 pro. Very odd. Computer is clean as i look after it well with regular scans/defrags etc.

- Fixed Position panel, not updating changes from modified stations.
- Small changes to Cartography, to prevent an error when saving empty notes and better error reporting, if the issue is back.
- Fixed Trade panel, allows editing of servicebox, when no position was recognized.
- Fixed Star System Database panel, when selecting a station to modify with no rares produces an error.
Eventure again thanks for the speedy update, though I haven't been able to test it yet been working hard on my Voice Attack Profile. Question do you still release TCE with the blank database without all the pre defined stations, still thinking about starting over and if I do I like the explorers feeling of finding things for myself.

You didn't say anything about Windows Defender and UAC specifically !
If you have not tried, I would suggest tuning both off completely as an ultimate test.
If you want to feel more safe about it, run TCE through this google online scanner before.

I've done it myself with a previous version and all 40 virus detection database/engine declared the files clean !

Deleting a star system note seems to work,
The empty note goes away on save and TCE doesn't crash
but it does give a new error window that goes away on ok with no other side effect detected so far.
But the deleted note is back after restarting TCE.
I also just found out that once I have successfully emptied a Star System note,
It will cause the Error: (-2147417848) every time I try to do just about anything with that system,
like change the star type, change the exploration status, add a station...
Even after adding another note I still get that error and a full Excel crash when I try to add a new station to that system
Going back to beta 3 allows me to to add that station properly, without error,
but deleting the note does cause the error.
After I added the station with beta 3 I upgraded again to beta 6 and was able to scan the market and use the info.
Everything is there and usable (including the note ) and market data even after restarting TCE again.

I have same problem after updating to last beta.
Soz yeah windows defender/UAC off. I know, i'm baffled also. Will keep trying things as i think of them. Thanks for trying to help though.

Please tell me, if you having problems like Bragolatch deleting notes of star systems via Database, Trade or Cartography panel, so it is empty and then saving it. I cant recreate that issue. Thanks in advance.
No problem. You have only to delete all stations listed at the Stations_UR table of the TCE.mdb.

That is awesome to know thanks. I'll try out the notes as soon as I can I do remember they seem to glitch from time to time the other day, but for me it seem like they were not saving data in them so maybe I was using them wrong, that is one reason I been considering starting over. I am just starting to get the hang of it though many mistakes and now you throw in new features to tackle
Well I cannot seem to duplicate the notes problem either. I deleted a note in cartography, Logbook and inside the stations panel all deleted and saved without incident I do get this error however had it start the other day after a crash, and so far I have been saving the files to view later since I don't know what they are. What do you think Eventure delete them?

I asked the same question a long time ago and yeah the answer was delete them.
Just to clarify something for the new TCE users, referred to the above posts:
If, at start, Excel asks you to recover something, don't. Delete as mentioned above.
If, after a play session, Excel asks you to save changes to tce.xlsm, don't.
TCE is not meant to change, in any way, due to normal usage. It's always a result of some error you encoutered.
Everything you do is savely stored in the .db files.

Hm...at the start, excel doesn't ask me to recover anything, but on exit, on popup screen I click 2nd option to remove files. So far on Beta-3 version, everything is working for me, everything I have tried, and I didn't have any kind of app crash at all

First off, let me say I love TCE. I have however a lot of issues. The most annoying is when I try to add a registered station. It randomly crashes with the following error:

Hey Eventure this new update hangs up about 60% into the loading and this is on a fresh install too. On that question about deleting those stations from the DB I was going to leave two stations in LHS 3447 do I leave their ID alone or should I change them to 1 and 2
UPDATE OK Got Beta 7 running so just need the answer about editing the database to clear it of all the predefined stations
