I get the error immediately upon entering the system (or while in FTL), however it doesn't happen with any 'main' star systems that have stations. I am not using the powerplay beta

same thing happened to me last night Eventure same error. It just randomly started when I locked a trade route. Did a 2 week old db reset and went back to the old version 3f still does it. really odd.
Not on powerplay just the usual game.

Happens after a jump. I press ok and the current location screen goes blank, then same box, press ok and it goes fine till the next jump.

Can you please tell me the star system name, you jumped in and the star system name, from where you come and if the error appears only, when in trade lock? It could be a problem in the database. Not sure. The strange is, that you changed the star system and TCE wants to display a station, as you reported.

How TCE work here:
After changing a star system, TCE checks the star system name of the log, if it differs from the actual identified. In addition, the log holding the "cruising" info, which tells TCE, that you are in supercruise. If both applies, then TCE shows the note "NEAR PRIMARY STAR".

The star system name is LTT 14247. The error has happened on other systems though but only when in trade lock and only systems that have no stations (intermediate systems). I also cannot enter any new commodity updates after this error as it won't let me save.

I have attached a photo of my log database, I'm not quite sure how to read it but I noticed the star ID shows as 0. I'm not sure if that is attributed to this error or not perhaps you can advise on how to test this out?

Is it an unknown star system for TCE? That could be a hint.

@IT IS !!! Found the error. Will be fixed in today release.

I think so it definitely doesnt appear in my cartography database and I cant find it in my TCE DB, including the Sations_UR Object field. I cant confirm if the other places I was having this error at are there or not because I cant remember where they were.

Sure, but some moron deleted his mdb when hit clicked "copy and overwrite" when he installed 1.40. (that would be me). I sat there and knowingly did it, figuring I only had about 15 stations in there anyway. That was true, but now I have the 'too many stations' problem and can't get rid of it. I'll try your suggestions, thanks.

Happens, that is why Eventure has programmed an automatic daily backup ! :)
So, if your DB was more then a day old, just unzip the last one that was made before you installed 1.40 and copy the TCE.mdb from there !
Making a backup of your current one before, of course.
Just in case lol :p

Confirmed the issue with saving stations with an apostrophe fixed! Thanks!

"Fixed a start issue, if all unregistered stations got deleted at the database."

Does that mean I can go into Stations_UR and delete the stations there?

Edit* The answer is yes, TCE started fine after I deleted the stations in Stations_UR. Also, I wanted to say how much faster the OCR scan completes and updated the commodity prices vs 1.39. Nice work Eventure!

LOL. After I posted, I was like, why am I scared...just try it (after saving a copy of the mdb).

BTW, I'm getting "Run time error '13' Type mismatch" after I enter text and hit "save" in the notes section of cartography for a star system.

Working fine here, so did you jumped to another star system while the cartography panel was open? A special system or all?

Not being using the Beta versions. Having just upgraded to the full version, I just get black screens when I try to open the new Logbook panels. It has let me set up a new commander, but after that, no joy...

Broken TCE.jpg

Did you use your old panel.mdb?
From what version you updated?
Please check the compatibility notes from the changelog.

No. I don't think the system has any weird names, etc.

I just booted up ED and then TCE. I went to the Cartography panel, chose the system I was in (was at top already) and entered some text. Clicked save. Everything ok.

Clicked on another system. Typed in some text and clicked save. Same Type mismatch error.

I noticed that the system I was trying to enter text for earlier was not listed in the cartography pane.

But then I noticed in the "travel logbook" that is did indeed log me being in the system.

I then hid the panel so that only the main TCE 'Control, ship logbook, etc' was at the top, and traveled back to the system I was at earlier today. TCE tracked where I was in the "current position" box exactly like it should.

I docked, clicked on cartography, and selected the current system and entered some text, then save. Same mismatch error. The system name is Scirth.

Alt-tab, click TCE, select no, close options excel book. Start TCE. Same error when clicking save after entering text.

Thanks Eventure! Your efforts are tireless on this great mod. Have you got a webpage where I can give you a small donation for all your hard work?
