Remember when FDev promised more reduced cost engineering weekends? They dont...

The material trader requirements were halved and each grade required the previous grades mats. FDev said they planned to do the event more often. Do you remember? FDev doesnt.

I think after the utter roasting they got for it they backed away from that idea, just like they did after the Titan incident.

Considering I thought the Titan incident was something to do with the planet, no.
I don't remember it. Lol

It does sound quite grand and important :D But it was inventive and also panned to death for (IMO at least) no good reason. The same went for the Weekend Bonus as people complained about it being gamey and that it ended in FDs timezone / ended two minutes too early etc.

Bonus Weekend: Trade & Engineering:

While the event itself was well-liked, the description of what it entailed was awful and attracted a lot of confused and/or pedantic whining.

Nvidia Titan Scavenger Hunt:

The only complaints the scavenger hunt attracted were from salty CMDRs whining that the event was open only ("Why can't I play in my mode?") when FDev wanted the event to be include Open-play PvP danger. The puzzle was solved, and 5 CMDRs won Geforce Titans.

The original idea of engineering was that high-tier modules would be very difficult to come by. Sure, they conveyed big advantages but by the same token were earned by spending hours and hours on something and doing something especially skilful to get certain components. Similarly the idea of the big ships is that they'd be rare and expensive. If you saw someone in an Anaconda, they'd spent ages earning it. It would be noteworthy and interesting to see - like an exotic sports car, see? Now it seems that you can access the big ships in a few hours and then engineer the heck out of them by collecting the bits at an accelerated rate. Unfortunately as they've become relatively "cheap" the question isn't "how did they get that 'Conda?" it's more "What's wrong with that person that they don't have a 'Conda?" &, especially in PVP, you need to have engineered the beast to stand a cat in hell's chance of fighting.

The sticker on the back of my DBX says "My other DBX is not an anaconda". I see they're adding supercruise autopilot to the game just so 'conda pilots don't have to watch them try to steer :)

Yes I remember that one. The complaining was pathetic.
