A Key part of Horizons was the ability to interact with landfall planets, a very exciting and interesting aspect! but there are some things that seem a bit lacking. Aspects this I (and hopefully many others) would like to see more of.
- Geysers, Fumaroles and volcanic aspects look beautiful with the bonus of having Engineer materials alongside. Unfortunately trying to find any of these is a REAL pain... For instance, despite many hours of circling this one planet that meets the supposed requirements (orbit, size, Canyon depth etc.) I have yet to find anything...at all. surely these natural occurrences can't be THAT rare?! I'd have better luck finding barnacles I swear....
-Barnacles. Kind of a touchy one, but from a personal view I would of thought there would of been significantly more out there? Thargoids are rapidly appearing in very large numbers (they plague most Pleiades systems with NHSS) yet these Barnacles are limited to just a few per planet (as far as I have noticed). Barnacle forests are appearing which is good. I am very happy to see that, just need more of them in independent sites!
-Skimmers. Not something I have seen much of over the past year (maybe 2 times on random planet encounters and another few times during missions...) I know they litter most planetary bases but in terms of interactivity they are very limited. Obviously in deep space and unpopulated areas this would be rare. but the amount of potential shipwrecks out in populated space would be very large. If pirates can afford FDL's and Anaconda's then you think they'd have the spare change to set up Skimmers to comb planets for them??? easy profit I would have thought. and of course...fun to kill!
Just a few things I personally would like to see more of. now given up searching for Geysers for the meanwhile...
Take care!
