Looks like you don't have an image for 0146, Atticus Ascension.

Here's mine.

I have begun a similar project on behalf of Harrow Labs, an Elite fiction Discord. our goal amongst a few others is to take every beacon, get the messages into a text file, and organize it for distribution, database lookup, etc. So far we have collected about 82, some of which are on here, some may not. I will be including these images into the collection I have. I will link down below.

our group has begun actively collecting these, so we will be checkin the thread as often as we can and adding them to our collection. For those interested in actively helping us, or helping us with other Harrow Labs goals, please get a hold of me in our Discord, also linked below.

Alright, adding the album. I don't have many so far, but I'm adding the ones the main spreadsheet doesn't have yet.

Thank you everyone for your continued submissions!

I fell behind with the tourist beacon work a little bit lately, but I should be all caught up now with everything submitted in this thread. Please let me know if I missed anything!

Perhaps you've already gotten this from the reddit post but just in case, I noticed it was missing from the list. This beacon overlooks the space shrooms valley that was discovered earlier this week. (Although apparently the beacon was already there before, just nobody thought to fly around a bit to see if there was more to discover).

Beacon: 0092
Location: T TAURI, A 2 A
Name: Hind Nebula View

(The exact exact position of the 'Space Shrooms' field is probably less than 2km out into the valley from the beacon, at -62.66 / 105.43 and also worth the visit.)

Only just started out and this was my very first beacon, so I noticed the message a little later when I was down at the shrooms field. Here a few pics including the beacon but without the message.

Dammit, I was really hoping tourist spot 0263 would be in your spreadsheet but it's not.

I've forgotten where it was now but I really wanted to go back 'cos it was right on the edge of a fabulous crater and the beacon would have made a superb start point for an SRV race to the center of the crater.

Oh well, for what it's worth ...

Actually, the spreadsheet does have it! =) It was at the bottom of the sheet in the 'orange' section, where I keep beacons that have an unknown number and no picture. The system that Ringed Planet is in should be 18 Puppis.

I've also added your picture, to complete the record!

I've got a couple more!

Beacon: 0340
Location: He Qiong 6A
Name: He Qiong Visitor Beacon

This icy moon is the site for a local mystery. A miner was discovered dead on the surface, but the autopsy was unable to reveal why. The data recordings on her SRV revealed a burst of radiation, but without any reference to a source. The case remains unsolved to this day.

Beacon: 0572
Location: He Qiong 6A
Name: He Qiong 6 A Ice Geyser

It was nighttime and I didn't get a good image of the geysers.

Why doesn't frontier just give you the list instead of making you find them all yourself? They are supposed to be tourist hotspots, right, not secret info of any kind. So where's the in-game travel brochure?

We're making the brochure and it's more fun this way.

For you maybe, but it isn't fun for me. This is just one of many, many, datasets and tools that are at best handy and at worst absolutely necessary to playing the game but for whatever baffling reason are excluded from it entirely. Am I the only one who finds it odd how many third party sites and tools people rely on just to play this game to its fullest extent? Whether it's engineer recipes, trade data, route plotters that factor in neutron boosts, player history and progression tracking, or just a list of nice places to visit. All of these are things that should just be in the bloody game to begin with, not left to the community to cobble together down the line.

I avoid most third party tools, preferring to rely on word of mouth and exploration. Sure, some things should be better documented and more easily accessible in game, but I feel discovering stuff for one's self is also important.

I've got pics of three beacon texts that the spreadsheet is missing:

I would absolutely love if the game had an exploration database / similar feature where you could view a list of tourist beacons you've visited in the past and their text, items/materials discovered, and that sort of thing. Trade Computer Extension is one of my favourite third party tools for that reason; it feels almost like a part of the game with its HUD overlay and gets filled out as you explore and find things for yourself. I hope one day we do get something of the sort; until then, I'll have to keep spreadsheeting things that I find interesting. =)

I've also added the tourist beacon information posted up to here (thanks Morbad and Mengy!). We're down to 42 beacons without known locations - thats out of 619 beacons!

I wonder if it could be worthwhile to collect the data for the material collected at fumarole etc locations. As the number of these locations adds up, I wonder if lists of these might be a better way to collect mats rather than beating dust in the SRV.
