Resetting control presets

Hi,

Can someone please explain how to reset the control presets?

The presets that I am talking about are the presets in the Main Menu->Options->Controls menu.

I am wanting to do this because I have purchased a T16000M FCS Hotas (without the throttle), and there is no preset for this joystick.

Thanks

Just choose Generic Joystick from the top row and after that modify all your controls as you like. I assume that you already installed the drivers and (optionally) the TARGET software/profile from Thrustmaster. If you want to delete a binding, simply click on it like you want to change it and press Escape instead. A long time ago I remember that a file for T.16000M / Elite was available, but now on the Thrustmaster site I see only examples/TARGET profiles for the new FCS HOTAS or dual joysticks.

No real issue, though, it takes like 10-15 minutes to define all controls. Also, be aware that your joystick is basically 100% the old T.16000M (the green light one) in case you want to search Google for an Elite configuration or something like that.

If you can, buy the Throttle too.

Is it possible to have multiple custom bindings?

I have multiple bindings files, yet only one custom binding is displayed in the controls menu?

Yes.

However, as well as renaming the file in windows explorer, you also need to edit the name inside the actual .binds file itself.

Open the file with notepad, and the second line will read...

<Root PresetName="Custom" MajorVersion="2" MinorVersion="0"> (in windows the filename will be Custom.2.0.binds).

Rename the file to whatever you want in windows e.g. CustomThrustmaster.2.0.binds and also change the line in the file to reflect that change (so <Root PresetName="CustomThrustmaster" MajorVersion="2" MinorVersion="0">). You will now be able to select that preset from the dropdown menu in Options > Controls and the game will create a new default custom file.
