Modes Restrict or remove PvE from the game, making Open a nicer place

I've been in these forums a while... I have a pretty good clue as to what I am talking about. Yes there are whiners from both sides, but for YEARS we have been fending off PVP purists wanting to change every aspect of the game because it isn't "Fair" that they don't have targets or the BGS should only be open, and other utter crap to pander to their playstyle only.

I don't want to fend them off....I want to see them realize how the game is meant to be played...and accept the game is not ever going to based on what they desire. I want to see dejected, dispirited, PVP players out in the wild screaming on Reddit, Facebook, etc. that E: D is a crap PVP game and no PVP player in their right mind would ever buy it.....and it will never get better, at least for them.

PVP is worthless in this game, completely by design, not oversight or mistakes. The devs do not want to allow the things that PVP players scream for...and they will never allow them to have those things.

I want them to enjoy the game in Open and quit trying to change it to suit them... that is what I mean by "fend them off"

I doubt making PP open only is "wanting to change every aspect of the game", common, today PP is used for modules only, this is not what it was supposed to be.

So either take the modules out of it - or have the modules locked to the power (you leave the power, you lose the modules).

I don't agree with you. PvP has a lot of entertainment value, even as is. It could have more, for sure, but even if they don't change a thing there's more content there than any other aspect of ED. By a fairly wide margin. And if Frontier didn't support it they'd be abolishing it, not struggling to come to grips with a c & p solution that benefits everybody.

The majority of the whiners here, on FB and Reddit is from the PVE players with no skills who fly shieldless junk and get rekt. Come outside of this forum and you will see another world.

I was just in game, in Open, at the thargoid fire sale...I was interdicted on my way in...by a NPC...and the only player I saw was heading out of system...what's your point?

I thought PVP was kind of fun...back before the Lugh War....once I went through that...I was pretty disheartened, because of the how the devs looked at PVP. It is, at best, a sideshow for those that feel the necessity to compete against real people. It has no input into the game, and is a complete hindrance to the way the game plays. To each their own, however, the game is not going to change...none of the PVP careers/activities will ever be profitable, nor will they move the galaxy in any strong way.

Games definitely can change over time...but in the end, this game is entirely based on one side out grinding another with PVE tokens.

As far as I can see, the only real changes that are need are;

  • What ever mode you commit a crime in, you're locked in. Until you are cleared of all crimes
  • What ever ship you are in when you commit a crime, you are locked in until you are cleared of all crimes

Bring those rules out, and suddenly player hunters have a chance, and folks wont be so keen to commit crimes in expensive ships (FDLs, Pythons, the big 3) if thy are locked in open in that ship until someone kills them.

Almost anything is better than what we have currently
