I just logged in. I last played a few months ago after the first Community Goal of the Distant Worlds 2 expedition. Work got crazy and I stopped playing. Anyway, any suggestions on what I should check out? There have been some patches I think. Go back to bubble since it’s not far anyway? Go exploring while I’m out here? Have they improved Mission Board yet? I hate how there’s never the type of missions I want to do. And they’re often for groups even though I’m playing solo.

What kind of missions do you like to do? It's generally pretty easy to find a system with a bunch of specific missions.
I’m kinda in the same boat, OP. Stepped away in January and just got back in. Not really sure what’s new (besides a few UI changes).
I do know that a lot of what 3.3 broke is still broken (famine states, several aspects of the codex and FSS, etc.), and that revamped ice worlds and carriers are still far beyond the horizon.
The best thing that’s changed is that the iCourier finally got a ship kit, and it’s awesome! No ship kit for the Mamba yet (aside from Reaver knock-off junk).

I like data delivery missions, but want bigger rewards or fill up without board flipping. Or a variety of missions that go to the same system. I don’t mind commodity deliveries, but want them for solo and to fill entire hold to one destination. I used to love base generator attacks, but I don’t like breaking the law. Data scanning missions have been fun. Oh and I love delivering medicine.

Yes they did build a station
Sothis/Ceos is a good place to do this. There's only two populated systems out there (last time I looked) So you'll just be going back and forth between the two.
Used to have fewer stations in the past, which was nice for handing in huge chunks of courier missions to the same station, but with the extra stations has come new opportunities, and now there's a decent variety of stuff to do up there. Very easy to get your mission log stacked up without board flipping.

Main thing that's likely to be new is that all your small ships will have 2 extra C1 slots and all your medium/large ships will have 1 extra C1 slot - which means you might want to take a look at all your ship-builds and see if you can juggle stuff around and add new modules.
The new slots were provided for the two new "autopilot" modules, so you might want to check those out too.
