Maybe because it's a bad suggestion. Just saying.
Can't ideas be discussed without immediate rudeness though? I was not rude to the person in question. These forums are a toxic place.

For those who don't see the issue:
The issue here is a Python that cannot boost and without long range weapons
The other issue is a FA-Off, long range fixed weaps specialist mocking up another commander.
Seriously, ED is full of dirty tactics and this is what makes it fun.
I usually just wake out when I encounter it.
Yeap, this is what you should do. Or try to develop a tactic that can counter the reversky.
Suggesting the alteration of flight patterns is not.
There are tactics you can use, but it depends what ship/build you're in at the time, it's not always viable.
I guess I'm just tired of seeing it, literally every other fight is some clown doing this.
What's silly is that thrust produces speed rather than acceleration. "F" should equal "ma". Apart from that, if one ship has more thrust than another in a given direction, it absolutely should "outpace" it.Reverse thrusters should not outpace the main thrusters of any other ship though, it's silly. This game already has gameplay related restrictions to ship speed, so using real physics to justify reverski is a poor argument.
Sorry, this can't be a genuine gameplay video. No-one would really fly about with letters spelling "just4lulz" on the dashboard. I cannot take this seriously. For those who don't see the issue:

There are a few ways Fdev could reign it in:
Thoughts?
- Reduce the speed in which the ships can fly in full reverse
- Add a heat build up for extended use of max-throttle reverse thrusters
- Add extra jitter to weapons if throttle is maxed out in reverse
- Apply a pitch & roll penalty speed while in full reverse
You've accurately stated the reason why it's a good tactic.
don't often use it because it depends on one's opponent to play into it...patient opponents do not do this, which renders it a nearly purely defensive tactic that is almost impossible to leverage offensively unless you can bait someone into following you.
Imo it's an error to consider it a defensive tactics. A defensive tactics can be used by both opponent in a fight. What happen if both opponent start to reverski at each other ?
Reverski is not defensive, it's just a way to refuse the game to your opponent.
That's exactly what i am saying (Wink smiley). If both ship reverski there is no fight, no game. This "tactics" revolve around the reverski ship hope that his opponent will actually try to play the game while he will himself refuse it has much as he can.If both ships reverski at each other it's called a mutual disengage. What else would you call it when both ships literally boost in opposite directions away from each other?
