Reverski.. suggestions to stop or at least limit it

Nah, i just curious how easiest game in this part of galaxy, where engineered player ships have like HOUNDREADS of % advantage over npc's + players unlike npc's can use FA-of, not even saying that player should be smarter than handicapped by programmers AI, and given this i wonder how making pve combat a bit more difficult can even be an issue, i just have no idea, thats all. Given all this my biggest complain about PVE combat in elite is that NPC's dont use all weapon effects real palyers use, as well as their tactics, becouse with this we would get much better game in general, and there will be no like 5% of palyers demending balance passes that actully affect only those 5% and maybe another 10% that are not active on forum. but becouse we dont, now we have "experts" with 200 hours in gmae who are saying that weapon X is perfectly fine "becouse you can kill npc pirate anaconda with it"

hihi,
I so love the statements like "pve is too easy" coming from people flying g5 engineered murderboats against non-engineered npc ships in a haz-res
How about you pick a non-engineered medium then go in a High CZ and fight against engineered NPC for a change?

The main issue folks have is that nerfing physics isn't the answer to the problem of player power creep. The reality is that player ships have gotten insanely strong thanks to engineering. If you want challenge, you'll have to pick a ship that isn't specifically a death dealing war machine, because most of them can demolish even elite tier NPCs with ease. If you're finding yourself bored with PvE combat, do like I did: go grab yourself a smedium ship, like the Keelback or an equivalent, and drag it out to a CZ or Haz Res for a bit. That should give ya a nice little change of pace.

I hit the same point of "this is too easy", and so far this route has added quite a bit of spice to the game. Now I have to rely on actual tactics, like kiting and the like, to get through multiple fights without constantly needing to dock.
It's what i do, i usually use small ships for pve, problem is that having to have 2 diffrent ships in 1 time, for pve and pvp is.... problematic :)
btw, nobody want to nerf this simpified physics we have in ED anyway, BUT forward and reverse speeds are simplified forward and reverse thrust, and even physically you can notice that most ships forward thrusters (main thruster) ganerate much more drag, so even within this simplified model reverse speed same as forward make no sense, OTOH if we would use fully realistic physics with same elite ships and somehow relate those capped speeds to forward and reverse thrust, like in old elite game with more realistic physics, same reverski phantom would still be able to reverse vs forward moving FDL, so problem is not used physics model, but completely unrealistic reverse thrust values for some ships, it's very similar to weight of anaconda and numerous other idiocities witihn the game, if for one reverski railing, either npc's, thargoids or other palyers is a prayer, just use this argument, i dont give a **** its unrealistic, but its fun and i want to have this model in game, instead of using pseudo scientific expalantions that sanction reverski.

Don't be silly, these 1337 PvP'ers could take out a Spec-Ops wing, with all 4 piling in on them at once, in an unshielded, unengineered Sidey with no armour and only 1 gun, NPC's are that easy :)

I sometimes wonder if comments like we both responded to are made by those who made elite combat in the 'good ole days' when you could put a turret boat in a CZ and come back 24 hours later to hand in bounties and get elite...

Even if you modify the reverse thrust, reverski would just change to full forward + boost, FA off, then about face while still moving in what used to be "forward' but is now "backward". Reverski using reverse thrusters is just a lazy-man's way to save 4 seconds of run and flip.

At the end of the day, that gameplay is something you would expect from any space game, so it really wouldn't be going anywhere. And kiting itself is something that's always exist in multiplayer games, so it won't either.

For better or worse, the basics of space game combat are very likely to remain constant in this game. The best we can do is get used to it, which I don't think is such a bad thing since that's part of what separates space games from your usual combat flying games and whatnot.

Yes you can just leave the fight and not chase them... but that means the strategy is essentially an 'I Win' technique, which is poor design IMO.
its not an I win button again the fact that gankers can beat it proves that its not unbeatable, stop blowing exhaust gas
If everyone just resorted to reverski to win fights then the PvP interest in this game would not last long. Remember, it's not used by players who are being attacked randomly
first of you need to prove that people are using this to attack gonna love to see you try that as the very nature of the reverski is a defensive move. secondly in pulling it the players had declared that the only way they can win is if you refused to adjust your strategy and let them win.
