Btw I consider it a very unfriendly attitude telling people to leave a community when they are providing feedback.
That part obviously wasn't meat at you.
But consider the possibility that it's like I said and it's not a PvP mechanic.. it's just a name on a faction inside a PvE BGS, same as any NPC faction (instead the developers specifically stated when introducing player factions, that all they get is the name and even that has severe restrictions to comply with lore and it will be a regular ingame faction like all the rest.). That pretty much means that it's actually a PvE element of the game, regardless if said faction holds the name of a PvP wing or not.
So again, what you signed up for is to have your wing name in PvE lore.. nothing more.
Pretty much the same can be said about Power Play. It's a conflict between PvE powers with PvE mechanics, with the only difference that when available you get the odd PvP mission (since the game sort of treats players like NPCs and vice-versa in certain things).
This means that even though your station is under attack in that way, it makes absolutely no difference whatsoever to your personal Commander. Even if your faction loses influence, even if your station is taken over, you can still access the same station regardless.. have access to all of your stored ships.. and all other station services etc etc..
So the way I see it, you actually 'pledged / signed-up' to a PvE mechanic and now you are getting attacked AS INTENDED in a PvE manner. Since you're 'too lazy? / can't be bothered / etc..' to do PvE as intended.. to defend / fight back the way it was intended, you're here asking for PvP to be forced upon those who actually play this mechanic as it was intended by the developers and physically prevent others from playing... by destroying their ships.
So question: How's this any different than simple raging and trying to 'break things' just because someone is beating you at a game (that you don't even want to play like that..)? Because it's not.. the way I see it it's pretty much the digital equivalent of me petitioning the organizers to host a fist-fighting tournament afterwards, just because some geeky dudes beat me at their science tournament! and... I could show them the error of their ways! ha!
You get it now? I'm all for PvP, but in a nice and civilized way.. so your feedback and suggestions should be about implementing new ways that are MEANT for pvp from the ground up and not just wanting to take over existing things at the expense of major consequences to other players.
At the end of the day, like Robert said in the beginning.. we're talking about a very small minority of PvP players who want to 'attack' the concept of free groups that FD implemented at the beginning and a very large majority (which coincidentally includes the FD staff) who want to keep it that way.. so you don't even have a snowball's chance in hell if you approach it from this angle. Make a legit suggestion that helps PvP WITHOUT harming everyone else and I think lots of people will back that..
Cheers!
