RIFT - Color, banding, and image warping issues. Any solutions? HELP!

Using DK2 still. but this latest patch is producing a weird popping/warping effect of menus (and other things), when things get graphically heavy.
Which also brings me to this, the game has got much more graphically laggy. I used to run things on High or Ultra now I have to dial things down to Med and High

running a GTX980 on a 6 core Xeon.

Edit: just re-read your post and you said you're on a DK2. Try the following: not sure if ASW works on the DK2.

The weird warping effect is caused by the ASW feature. If you press Ctrl-F to see the ED frame rate, it'll probably be red and say 45fps, especially in high-load areas like stations with menus open, RES sites, asteroid fields etc.

ASW is a big help for lower-end machines. It locks the frame rate to 45 and adds in a synthetic frame between each real one your GPU delivers. You see 90fps, but only 45 of them are real.

Making sure NumLock is On, you can use Ctrl-Numpad1 to turn it off - the frame rate in ED should jump back to yellow or green etc and will not be locked to 45fps.
ASW causes some graphical glitches such as the warping in HUD lines, and menu line bleeds (in the solid orange bars).

Ctrl Numpad 4 to turn it back to Auto On/Off.
You will need to turn it off each time you start ED (or any other VR application). The ASW feature always starts up on auto on/off (mode 4).
