All I get is an Oculus hardware error.
When I connect it to the television there is no picture at all.
I guess they send me a rotten cable.
I would be really grateful if anyone who IS seeing a difference with the adapter, and has Bigscreen (free on Steam) or Virtual Desktop - would you mind looking at this image while in the Rift:

It is a full range test image, if you have full range you will see 4 boxes, if not only 2. I am seeing 4 when using HDMI, or via the DP adapter.
I would live to know if you get 2 boxes when using HDMI.

This is the one i bought.
Has anyone with the adapter who saw a difference between HDMI and DP been able to try this? Thanks![]()
Thanks for the sympathy. I just got an email, they will refund me.
I think I will wait for the active one I ordered from China and see if that makes a difference.
Reading this thread, it doesn't seem to make such a huge difference, that it can't wait.
Using a 780TI I can see the colour gradient easily in the background sky. I've bought the same DP to HDMI adapter and sadly it hasn't made any difference to the image for me. :-(

So, if I can see 4 shades while wearing the Rift (using Virtual Desktop), can I assume that I am getting the full range? And moving to a DP will not give me any value?
Hey, stevesideas, did you only see 2 colors on HDMI before swapping to the DP adapter? I have a 980ti like you, but I see 4 colors using the rift on HDMI.
Dynamic range vs full range, very good test pic here:
