TOGGLE BUTTONS!

Hey Guys, we are have a new tutorial video out today explaining how to create toggle buttons for your grids.

There are many ways you can use these controls

Without changing the graphics:

• Drag and drop the controls into your Custom grid
• Paste your macro into the toggle.qs as explained in the video

Replacing graphics

• You can drag and drop the controls into your custom grids and then change the graphics by overwriting the graphics files in the resource folder
• Then open toggle.qs with a text editor and paste your macro code for each function

Or

• You can can drop your new graphics in the toggle resource folder
• Open the plugin.json and change the graphics file names for the button you want to change
• Change the name of the control in the toggle.ctrlset.json
• Then open toggle.qs with a text editor and paste your macro code for each function

I've made the graphics for the toggle buttons as neutral as possible in case you wanted don't want to change the graphics and just want change the macro in the toggle.qs file.

I hope you guys enjoy the ability to add toggle buttons to your grid with this toggle control pack we've made. Don't be intimidated by the fiddling with the code a bit it's pretty straightforward. If you get a stuck feel free to ask me for help in this forum.

We are thinking about what other kinds of videos we could make. One idea is to show you guys how to make your Roccat Keyboards and mice change/pattern or colour when you press a control on power-grid.

I get the feeling that it is no longer being actively supported by Roccat, after downloading it to my PC and installing it wont let me login and despite numerous un-install & installs, nothing doing.

It was definitely your end as the entire roccat site was down and displaying nothing but a single line message about a socket error. There were also people posting to the facebook page about it. It was back online about 21:30 or so just as I removed it :|

One of of our programmers in looking into the logfiles now. Yeah I just checked our Facebook and you are right. Sorry again for these issues. Looking for bugs to squash, will keep you posted.

Thanks matey, I prolly came over slightly OTT last night purely because I've been using PG now for about 8 months and to be honest its ingrained into my ED gaming experience. Despite removing it, its highly likely I'll realise it was knee jerk and whack it back on because when it works its fantastic and I use it to control sound levels in windows etc etc as well.

The biggest issue for me though is the fact that it needs a constant connection to roccat. I wouldn't mind it needing to phone home every week or whatever or even having to log in but it really should have some form of fall back so that when the backend goes down the whole thing doesn't fail.

I have yet to see a single command that isn't already bounce to my HOTAS or my Voice Attack...

... only thing I might use it for is to have a massive red button labelled Self-Destruct as a test to see how long I can look at it without the urge to click it.

I can totally understand being off with a tool you've invested so much time into suddenly stops working. I really appreciate your honesty, I am really stoked that communities like the Elite Dangerous community have poured so much time into this tool that we work so hard on. Power-Grid being ingrained into peoples gaming experiences was the goal from the start.

The constant connection is something we can't really change anytime soon. Adding an offline mode would not be possible. However this will be something we will definitely take to heart for Swarm. The new website has a few kinks to iron out and Power-Grid being disrupted now and then is a by product of that. All we can do is iron out this issue and do our best from stopping it from happening again.

I do a lot on my X52 also but having this here in front of me for things I dont often use but might need in a hurry is great. I would like to run this in landscape but the iPad can only find the iPhone version on the store.

@CptMunta thanks for taking the time to look into this i will reinstall again and have another try on monday, as for firewall and porting issues can you be more specific, nothing else is affected by Avast firewall and anti virus... and I haven't changed anything from the default settings.

No problem thanks for your feedback. As SAS Stalker mentioned Power-Grid goes down when our Website goes down. We are working on fixing this issue.

No problem. Thanks for giving Power-Grid another chance See how you go reconnecting to Power-Grid. If you guys continue to have issues I follow it up by PM and we can start looking at firewall settings. It's most likely the issues with the site which we are working on, gonna have to use occam's razor on this one.

Ive only ever used it on a 10.1" tablet, I amended an already available rotated grid and added loads of new buttons to it. Not sure why it wouldn't scale up to tablet size its fine. Its free anyway so just give it a go and see
