Rocks now count towards terrain requirements.

Unsure if this is intended or not as its not mentioned in the patch notes, but how do you feel about it. Personally i hate it. It ruins many cool habitats, shelters, barriers and more

Its intended. And a horrible reason.

 that doesn´t make sense, a rock is not a plant as far as I know ;) please change that back or else it makes no fun to design habitats that make animals happy

This is going to make a lot of people angry. Can't wait to watch the forum melt down in a couple of hours.

how dare they treat a rock as if it were made of rock! everyone knows rocks are made of unnamed nonreactive inanimate material!

Actually, no. It is stupid. Period. We have rocky surface for animals who want a rocky surface. But rocks placed to decorate the enclosure, rocks used to build a shelter and rocks used to build the walls are now out of the question, now. And that is stupid.
How comes animals don't hate brick walls then? Or glass and concrete? Those aren't part of their natural habitat either.

What's the point of spending hours trying to make attractive habitats, may as well stick animals in square brick boxes or plain holes in the ground! No more nice piece by piece rock shelters, plain boring unattractive metal shelters all around!

Looking into this, fam. Please hold fire :)
I'd just like to point out that using rocks to build a habitat was heavily promoted in live streams and everywhere so this, however it may have seemed "logical" to somebody up top, is kind of a below-belt blow to people who go for beautiful exhibits instead of the "efficient" ones.
So I think people will "hold fire" for probably next 15 minutes. Tops.

I hope they end up reverting this change. I love my natural habitats. I'm going to have to redesign all my zoos if this sticks. 😅

Its counting towards the terrain coverage not plants. So grass, sand, soil etc
oh my bad, I was multitasking - lol
however if you look into it, dear Frontier team, could you add a few more different sized rocks with more color diversity? like a bit of green moss on them or a bit of ice snow, - only a littlebit, and do not make them count towards anything (purrrlease)
just hand over some more non counting rocks and all will be fine ;)😸

Agreed. I like the attempt but the cost is too high. It just needs yo be a checkbox in the bottom right. Same as barriers not counting as habitat s
