It doesn’t help that most “This One Weird Trick” guides are really suboptimal, time and fun wise, when it comes many aspects of this game. I come across so many sources of data and manufactured materials while doing missions, I managed to replenish my engineering supplies while unlocking the Alioth permit after depleting them on two racing builds. More importantly,
still have enough to do the same with
Krait Expectations and have several G5 rolls in reserve for my next couple of ships. And that took about three to four hours to do, in a Cobra Mk III, no less.
Conventional forum wisdom probably would’ve taken at least twice as long, given how focused they are on doing
one thing at a time. They would have me ignore the High Wake scan that is
literally on my way out of a station’s mass lock. To ignore the ships, EEs or HGEs on my path to my destination. To not make a quick sweep on my WAVE scanner if I have reason to land on a world.
It boggles the mind, especially how those “one weird trick” guides are the epitome of grind, and the antithesis of fun. At least it would, if such behavior wasn’t so well known…
