don't go mining at night
don't use non-weapon tools in combat
don't waste high quality weapons on basic kills
don't use bi weaves shields on large ships
don't play around with security forces
don't forget to join the Empire
don't get to cocky
and Never. join. Zachary. Hudson!.....Or Felicia!

See? Simple.

From the great John Wayne - how to survive the Wild West.

1. “A man’s got to have a code, a creed to live by.”
Set up goals and steps so you can meet your conditions of satisfaction.

2. “Don’t pick a fight, but if you find yourself in one I suggest you make damn sure you win.”
People move too fast to be caught up in squabbles, so unless I know I am going to win, I don’t entertain fighting. It’s a waste of time, energy, and resources. Enemies and opponents should know that when I step up to ride that rodeo, there’s only one outcome. With that attitude, it’s rare that things escalate to that point because everyone involved wants to avoid it.

3. “Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway."
Don’t let fear get in the way! Whether you are starting out or have been doing it for years, opportunities will always appear. What matters is whether you rise to the challenge and take those risky moves. Step outside your comfort zone, expand into new experiences or try something new.

4. “Life is tough, but it’s tougher if you’re stupid.”
You don’t know what you don’t know, and that’s OK. Everyone who starts something commences as a beginner. Even a cowboy had to buy Horses for Dummies when purchasing his first horse. The key is to be in a constant state of awareness, so that you're continually looking for ways to expand your knowledge and tweak things that aren’t working right.

5. “Hurry it up. We’re burnin’ daylight.”
There's only 24 hours in a day, so use them right. Think with the end goal in mind, so that every step is calculated and your time is efficiently used. Use the time you’re given wisely. If something doesn’t meet your conditions for satisfaction, hurry it up because you’re burnin’ daylight.

Never underestimate your adversaries and overestimate yourself. Death can come on swift wings.
Don't be a slave trader, keep human dignity in mind.

Don't go mining at night? That's got me puzzled.

Plus of course, what happens in Elite, stays in Elite ... apart from the forum ...and Reddit .... and the newsletter .... ermmm

You try seeing all the big rocks floating around you in space when it's too dark to see anything . . . I always head to the 'midday' point of the rings I'll be mining, oh, and while you there, go to the outermost section of the ring you're aiming for and then head toward the planet while mining so you don't accidentally get turned around and try to mine a rock you've already depleted :)

Nice nice a +1 has been transported to you .

Don't go minning at night.

But it's always night in space......my brain hurts....

No. It's always day in space - as you'll find out on Tuesday :D

Ok, seriously?
Every planet (moon, whatever) has a side facing the primary star in a system and a side facing away from it (ED hasn't managed yet to deal with multiple light sources, so e.g. if a system has a black hole primary and a B supergiant secondary, all planets will be black, as only then nonexistant light from the black hole counts). The side facing the primary is illuminated, the other isn't.
But also each illuminated object casts a shadow. In the case of ring-bearing giants, that shadow often falls across the ring. And mining in that shadow is... different.

Only ones I haven't done are joining Hudson or Felicia, but I guess there's still time for that.

Only important rule is to have fun.

Some of us Imperial Scum support the Blue Pixie Princess who bans slavery in any system she controls :p ;)

Indeed, spreading the anti-slavery word is one of my goals for my new commander :)

Hey, hey, slavery has it place. Not everyone can afford to pay minimum wages. If someone for whatever reason wants to work seemingly for peanuts, then I am willing to hire them and feed them peanuts. How they happen to be come available to me is not of my concern, if they walked or were transported to me makes no difference. I'm a lazy person and have a lot of peanuts, hungary, want to exchange your labor for some peanuts, I'm your man. Should a faction be able to force an entire community into slavery, then they deserve what they got comming. Live free or die isn't just an idoma it a choice.

Can't sell what doesn't sell, the best way to stop slavery is to stop buy slaves. Trump was accused of hiring illegal immigrants to work on some of his projects. He didn't hire them, they worked for a contactor who hired them. When the Donald found out, he repermanded the contractors, but that part was never made public by the media. Hmmmm

One should ask them selves why is it legal to sell drug parapharnalia, but illegal to possess it. America was made great by the assistance of slaves and or indentured servents from Ireland, China, Mexico, etc. And though it was a terrrible life style, their off spring today reap in their endevors.
