Safe to trade yet?

Seems good to me, I've been trading all morning without any hassle, no disconnects either.

Maybe you'll get lucky. Unfortunately I get transaction failed every time, and Open and Solo have different ideas as to how much cargo I have yet both agree only 10tons are available to sell in the commodities view.
Guess i missed the drama, i didn't play yesterday and when i logged in today everything is fine.

If you got bugged during the server issues, you may still be bugged. There is a work around which involves replacing a non cargo item such as Basic Scanner or Fuel scoop with a cargo rack, then buying and selling a single item which supposedly resets you and allows trading normally. Then you sell the new cargo rack and rebuy your old item, going on as usual.
If you have no non cargo rack items to sell and replace with a new cargo rack, then people have suggested exploding will reset you, but this is extreme of course.
If you were not playing last night and didn't get bugged, you shouldn't be affected in any way, since the servers seem to be working correctly again.
This info is just from personal experience and reading the forums though, so proceed with caution. I'd buy a single cheap commodity and try to sell that before investing in 200 tons of Palladium for example.

I played yesterday, but quit for the night before all the server problems. I'll log in now and give it a go and report back.

I did not log in while the server issues were ongoing and I can now trade without problems.
If you ended up with a bugged save due to encountering the problems YMMV. The workarounds mentioned above have helped some folks recover, or you can put in a ticket and let FD sort out your save on their end (slower but safer)

Just gave this a try by replacing the Discovery scanner with a cargo rack. Unable to sell that same cargo rack as my cargo has magically expanded from 40t of bugged cargo to 44t of bugged cargo. Ticketed.
I traded last night when everyone was reporting problems. I got a couple of server connection failed errors but trades eventually went through and I got the money, I did give up exploration as a lost cause however. Today everything is fine so far: bulletin board missions have paid off (not disappeared), trading is smooth and exploring seems to work again.
Seems fine for me, but note that I didn't play when things were glitching last night.
