Hey guys,
Some of you may know that recently we upgraded the servers that host the exploration data.
Unfortunately we've identified some issues as part of this upgrade and we are advising that everyone stop exploring until we confirm it's safe to continue doing so.
We will be keeping players informed on this thread as we get more news.
I'm very sorry for the confusion caused.
Update 1:
Thank you all for your patience during today. As many of you have suggested the issue is still under investigation this weekend.
There has been a small change added which means that when a scan has failed, the user is notified. However, this is not 100% guaranteed and we would still strongly advise that if you are able to, to avoid exploring and scanning until the issues has been resolved.
The development team are going to be working through the weekend to try and resolve this issue.
Keep an eye on the first post of this thread for further updates.
We understand the frustration this will cause and we'd like to thank you all for your patience while we continue to resolve the issue.
Thanks,
Zac
UPDATE 2:
We have identified and deployed a fix for body scans not being stored after completing scans of the system. This appears to have been a bug from changing the servers for storing the exploration data. Exploration data is by far our biggest data set and is currently sitting at around 67 million lines, so needed to be upgraded to maintain a reasonable level of performance.
We will now investigate restoring the scans that we can from the past few days (since the start of the upgrade alongside the 1.4 release). If the data has been sold then we won't be able to recover it for the galaxy map, but any 'first discovered by' bodies won't be affected. You can rescan the system to add it back to your galaxy map.
Once we have a process it is likely to take some time to run, but in the meantime you can continue your journeys and the scans should be properly recorded.
Thanks for your patience on this!
Michael
UPDATE 3:
Update on exploration - we've identified an issue which would cause a scan to fail which we are investigating. The restoration script for data after the update failed and is being re-run. Missing data from before the update are being looked into tomorrow. Once again we apologize for the delays and appreciate your patience.
UPDATE 4:
Hey everyone.
Quick update for you all from the dev team.
The bug with new scans not going through should now be fixed. Exploration data should now be working as intended.
In addition, all of the data after the 1.4 update should now be completed.
If you have any issues with the above then please contact support with as much details as possible.
In addition there were some people mentioning that they were missing data from before the update. This is still being investigated and we will update this thread as we have more information.
UPDATE 5:
The dev team have continued investigating the pre 1.4 data and have made some progress. They are hoping that this will see a final fix at some point today.
Once again, thank you for your patience.
UPDATE 6:
The dev team have ran the missing data from pre 1.4 and this should now be back. They will be running some additional checks tonight and we hope to have a final update tomorrow.
