Notice Scan data bug fixed

It's a good point. If it were a trading or combat bug you could try something else, but with exploration... that's pretty much it.

Maybe it's all a cynical ploy to push explorers into CQC? ;)

Not me...i dont do PEWPEW, if i can't explore i shut the game off...sorry FD!

Well,I stopped exploring a while ago to focus on trade and combat. I like to think of it as adapting and surviving. ;) :p

That said, the recent CG in Sothis got me into exploration again.

My main reason for not moving since Monday, was that i knew i had 475LYs of missing scanned data & would IF needed go back & re-scan, as these were all WDs & NSs

I opened the system map, because i hadn't scanned anything but the star and a system scan.. and it had no planets..

I'm not going to play until they are back :p

An update as to what the exact problems are would actually be nice.

Full detailed scans are not saving properly. System visits are. Jump and basic scan only, write system name down if viable candidates, rinse repeat until problem is fixed. Its the only way at the moment - I'm locked to this thread for an update

Q.Q I was exploring for 6 month ... approaching the 7th.... I hope I didn't lose everything Q.Q Please Frontier we have faith in you !

These words, sung by Jerry in Alice in Chains, does come to mind:

Gloom, despair, and agony on me
Deep and dark depression, excessive misery
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all
Gloom, despair, and agony on me

And that about serves as a TL;DR for most of these comments in this thread.

We headed out yesterday to explore. Got 1500 LY out before someone told us about the exploration problems. My wing-man just stopped and logged out of the game till we hear more. I went back home to Founders World. They bought all my data just as it was supposed to work. I had no problems at all.

Hmmm. I've been away some time about 3,000l-y out exploring every unscanned world, and only just found out about this. Now my exploration history on EDDiscovery after 7 October is apparently random star systems with no attached data. Stopping exploring now.

Ah yes of course. I took the week off work, and spent a considerable amount of time exploring. It will be inevitable that none of the data I scanned has been recorded. This is not anyone's fault but my own. While my luck can't seem to affect the Lotto result, it seems that it can easily rewrite SQL code on remote servers.

Thats an old Hee Haw Tv show song.

Hey guys,

Some of you may know that recently we upgraded the servers that host the exploration data.

Unfortunately we've identified some issues as part of this upgrade and we are advising that everyone stop exploring until we confirm it's safe to continue doing so.

We will be keeping players informed on this thread as we get more news.

I'm very sorry for the confusion caused.

Thanks,

Zac

Is this issue only effecting scans done post 1.4? I spent the last month exploring, returned yesterday and sold all my data. I assume all scans prior to 1.4 were/are unaffected?

So what you're saying is my 2 weeks of exploration and ANYTHING I've done in that time BEFORE and SINCE 1.4 is pointless ?
....I may as well go back home ask quickly as possible because I've Literally wasted my time being out here for 2 weeks

None of the systems I've first discovered, none of the systems I've scanned mean diddly-squat ?

I only noticed when I logged off to go do something else to come back and finish scanning a system and realised ALL of the planets and stars I have scanned prior to loggin off are unexplored in the system. So what Im reading and TERRIFIED of is the many MANY systems I've painstakingly scanned. are gone ........

ARE YOU KIDDING ME ?

YOU BETTER BLOODY FIX THIS I didn't pay 60 dollars for a broken game Literally wasted 2weeks of my time

To try to put some minds at rest, I have checked back on some of the systems I have scanned in the last few weeks and I can see them as fully explored. Hopefully that means that all of the pre-patch data will be fine. Fingers crossed.
