Are the systems which you think your first discoverer on showing up as discovered in your galaxy map? I have a large number of systems which I was first discoverer on which were sold before the update. They are now showing to me as unexplored and I am unable to view the system map. I guess if someone else now sells the data they will then show as first discoverer . I may have lost nothing financially but I have lost about 600-700 systems as first discoverer !

Oh man, this is turing into a serious mess... 
When the dust settles and Support has taken all their rightly earned overhours it would be a good point (again) to speak about making it easier for explorers to earn their merits. I mean, when I kill a wanted NPC rat 1k LY out in the blue I get the bounty immediately. I think it would be good for Stellar Cartographics to procure this amazing billing system and integrate it into theirs. When I explore a planet (with a nametag already on it) 1k LY out I get nada. I have to fly back to a station and report at a StelCart ATM.
This does not compensate for lost or failcopied data due to a RL server issue thing but it would be a good start to think things over reducing the amount of PITA we explorers get when trying to map out Braben's 400 billion systems.
Please consider this, FD!

No you don't. You get a voucher that you have to cash in at a station, that you can lose if you're killed. There were 2 recent threads complaining about that.

So what people do in RES or CZs is basically farming vouchers and then they cash them in at station X?
Started using captain's log sinds last night after reading about it here. Never wanted to log systems myself, but at least now I can see if and how I'm affected by these problems.. A little late sinds I'm now only a few kly away from the core, but better late than never. Scanned 8 systems last night from 1.02am to 3.28am. All showing up as normal now. Just hoping FD can restore any if any lost data.. I knew exploring isnt as fruitfull as other tactics, but i figured a great journey like this one would be.. this is my first mayor exploration, and space craziness is setting in. No ships.. no stations.. just nothing.. I'll be glad when I get back..

I'm currently 'roughing it' 12,000Ly from Sol - and by 'roughing it' I mean I'm in the spa with a long, tall Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster. chin chin!
As a non-native english, does it mean that everything I explored 2 months ago (I'm still at 5000Ly from home and it's my first exploration trip) is lost for the moment?

I took a jaunt to Sag A a few weeks ago, and I was on my way back (14,000LY out) when 1.4 was released. Everything scanned before that time sold successfully when I returned just before midnight on 8th October, and all my ELW first discoveries were fine. However, I lost 4 x ELW first discoveries and every planet/system since the 1.4 patch.
I would assume all those places you have explored since 1.4 was released are potentially lost, and if this recovery script does fix it, then I might get my missing 4 x ELW back, plus all those systems I scanned between 14,000LY out to the bubble...

As I understand it, there's only a window of about 2 days from when they took a backup over to the new server to when they turned that on during the 1.4 switch that's stuck. Anything from older should still be there for you.
I've not moved since this bug showed.
I've got 3 Earth-like worlds and 2 Neutron star systems missing and everything in between.
I don't fancy backtracking nearly 2400 LY to recover them so I think I'll wait a few more days to see if the data is recovered.
I have screenshots of the ELW and NS systems missing so I'll go back and rescan if necessary.

I was fly back to home after the 1.4 release and sell the data. After then I was noticed that warning.
Too late for the pepples to vote when the avalanche is started..
Lost a lot of things and there's no way for me to get lost data back since i was selling them already. Maybe I will fly that 2400Ly for that earth-like. But those several losted waterworlds+tc es me off...

The title: "Scan data bug fixed" suggests the fix is in place and working. I hadn't read the thread properly and was planning a trip for tonight. After rereading the update properly it seems the bug isn't fixed?
