Engineers SCB recommended Engineer upgrade?

What is best usually? Specialised or Rapid charge?

The way I see it rapid charge is inferior because it also reduces the amount of time it reinforces the shield?

I run Spec 1 on my Corvette for the heat reduction (I'd run spec 3, but it's locked behind that ridiculous Elite requirement). It took me about 15 rolls per to get ~2-3% power increase for 12% heat reduction, which has allowed me to stagger launch 2 7A SCBS off a single heatsink without hitting 100%. I honestly don't see the point in rapid charge myself, as you've mentioned it reduces the overall shielding for a negligible increase in gain rate. Perhaps PvPers will have a different perspective, but for PvE, I've found Spec to be the only one worth considering.

Thanks heaps mate, trying to work out a setup for my future Vette. Doesn't have much available power. :-\ I want to keep it as efficient as possibly so I didn't need heatsinks, might be wishful thinking.

I was hoping for the same thing; the Corvette runs cool, but not that cool unfortunately. It can tolerate a class 5 SCB without heat sinks, but anything higher and you'll spike over 100%. I've found launching the heatsink, waiting 2 seconds, launching the first 7A SCB, waiting 3-4 seconds and then launching the second allows me to just get both in without going over 100%. Throw in an ammo mod for the heatsink and I can get by with just the one (last launch will spike me, but if I need the last one, I need it and the heat damage is acceptable). Spec 3 can get a 7A's heat down to that of a 5, so once I have Elite rank (10% Dangerous atm) I'll retest the viability of no heatsinks.

Great video on Corvette heat: Here.
