Still, non bindable keys is pretty lame for a game that ragged this hard to be a "PC game".

Yeah, watched his FFE one last night. I might be tempted to try the mod he shows. Where can I get a legit copy of FFE?
Good question. I know you can at the eliteforever site. I won't link to it because I don't know what the policy here is on it. It just sort of falls under that big 'abandonware' umbrella where nobody has officially said it's free (although I seem to remember it was available to download on Frontier's official site once?) but nobody seems to have any issues with it being freely available to download, you'd need to use DOSBOX to get it working - but I think the version on eliteforever is self installing and sets it all up for you.
You'll have a tough time picking up an original CD rom now though, even on ebay.
