Thanks. Actually that's the lens flare with custom texture and some simple code tweaks.
This is the sort of thing I don't like about ED. The proximity of stellar objects is sometimes not natural. Two stars would never be able to be that close in reality without there being some major interaction between them and they would certainly be orbiting around a common centre of gravity very rapidly.

Yes indeed although those stars are touching. I'm not a cosmologist but I'm pretty sure that would not happen. Both stars orbital velocities would be eroded very quickly and so would have merged into a single star long ago.
