Search escape pods on planets or in space

In the past we had missions to search lost pilots. Haven't seen them for a long time. Are they removed from missions stack?

I think yes. And btw they would be very hard to accomplish, as scape pods don't appear as much in old days

yeah, but it's a pity, that this kind of mission is removed! I enjoyed that missions a lot as they have got some dramatic behind (family / friends) asking me for help.

Maybe they are removed accidentally?

Have not seen missions for a while but pods do appear quite often in large numbers at non-persistent POIs.

Yup I found 6 in a Degraded Emission Source only yesterday. Didn't have any cargo so I left them

Yeah with Frontier making everything a Mat gathering game now for Engineers, this kind of stuff gets buried.

You can still find them in the wild and turn them in at the Search and Rescue contacts for a nice reward through. About 10k a pod I think.

Hm, the mission could be like:
find pilot in system
wreckage in USS or as search site on planet

It's same mechanic like salvage black boxes or things from planet.

They still exist, just under a different title. I think it's something like "Planetary Salvage - Escape Pods" I know the symbol on the mission is a planet with a cross on it. They gave high reputation as of 2.4, still do in 3.0 (did some over the weekend). Haven't done any since 3.0.3.
