Well done Izzy. I saw your marker on the map recently, you weren't far away from where I was at the time. Coming back only lightly armed is why I usually stop at Jaques Station as my first port of call.

Ships Log; Personal. Commander Adept Geraden. 03:00 Hours. 6th February 3302.

After a very hectic week and a bit, I find myself parked up at my friend,
Jaques, station. I radio'ed ahead for the VIP suite, which, thankfully, was
available. I had a nice long soak in a warm bath, washed off 16 Kylies worth of
space grime, the local laundry cleaned up my flight suits, and Jaques served a
splendid meal, finished off with a touch of his personal stash of 300 year old
Lavian Brandy.

But, back to the week that was. It started out like an old Banjo Patterson poem:

There was movement at the station, for the word had passed around,
the T9 full of rares had gone done

The T9 in question being the flagship of the Distant Worlds Expedition.
Disaster. With a Capital "F".

Anyways, at the time, I was out doing some free-range trading in the Clipper,
just for a change of pace. I was tasked specifically with going to Founders
World, and collecting some Waters of Shintara. And yes, that is the correct
spelling. The system may be "Shinrarta Dezhra", but that ain't what the waters
is. Seeing as I was Elite and all, which you need to be to get into the system.
Since I was already most of the way there, and the plan was to hand off any
rares I collected to Red Barron for transporting out to Waypoint 5, I stayed in
the Clipper. They published a list of needed items, so I picked up a few more on
the way back to Eleu for the ill-fated meetup with Red. Making sure the one
slightly questionable, mostly illicit, item was the last thing I collected.

Things quickly went downhill from there. Red radios me that another collector,
one of the Fuel Rats, had been unable to meet up with him, and could I collect
his cargo. From the published list, I thought he only had a few items. When I
asked him to drop his cargo so I could collect it, he had a lot more than I
thought. Seems he had transferred cargo from other commanders. So stuff goes
everywhere, my collector limpets get confused in the mayhem, and manage to self
destruct. Taking several cannisters of the valuable cargo with them. Oh well, at
least I got most of it.

And, of course, I was also cursed with the same malaise of our Fuel Rat friend.
Unable to sync NavComp's with Red Barron. Can't transfer cargo. So, the decision
is made that Red and myself will both fly the 8 Kylies out to Waypoint 5 to meet
up with the Zombie Wasp. That's the name of the T9 full of rares that went
down.

Then I came up against the bureaucracy that is the Dock Workers Union. Now, I'm
an Elite explorer. I've got a fine Asp that's been all the way to Sag A, and
back again in one piece. The 8 Kylies to Waypoint 5 would be but a short jaunt
in that thing. But no. Dock Workers Union rules. No transferring cargo between
ships. Even if they are both your ships. They don't care. Rules is rules. And no
amount of begging, pleading, bribing, threats of physical violence, and uttering
of curses in every ancient tongue that I can still manage to annunciate, was
gonna change that. Seems to me, if they're immune to bribery, we must be paying
them too much.

Resigned to my fate, taking the Clipper to waypoint 5, I set about a re-fit for
deep space. 15 Ly jump range, and only 3 jumps because of a 16 ton fuel tank and
armed to the teeth, may be fine for a little trading around the bubble. But it
wasn't gonna pass muster where I was going. Downgrading everything except the
frame shift drive, ditching half the weapons, swapping cargo racks for extra
fuel tanks, got the jump range with the cargo I had out to 20 Ly, and jumps
without scooping out to possibly 8, or even 9. Badlands proof. "Rescued by Fuel
Rats" is not very high on my bucket list.

The trip out there was uneventful. Slow, but uneventful. Red got there way ahead
of me, of course. The meetup with the T9 went off without a hitch. Exchanged
pleasantries with Commander Olivia Vespera, took advantage of the photo
opportunity, and transferred cargo 4 canisters at a time in a very liesurely but
efficient manner.

Got a mention in the DWE newsletter. Might have to tear that page out and frame
it. Might be as close to "famous" as I ever get. And, I'm possibly the only
Commander not on the DWE that has a close-up, ships nose to nose, photo with the
Zombie Wasp. 8 Kylies out to boot. How precious is that ?

The return trip was also uneventful. Even slower, due to a fruitless search for
more earth-like worlds to add to my private portfolio. I was surprised to find
the limit of already explored systems has been pushed out beyond the 2 Kylies
from the bubble range. So the last 2000 Light years to Jaques Station was mostly
done Buckyball style, as fast as possible.

And that is how I came to be sitting here in Jaques Station, waiting for my
order of 18 Jaques Quintessential Stills to be fulfilled. When that is done,
I'll set off along my old rares trading loop, working my way back to Bao Orbital
in Eleu, where I'll sell all my exploration data, and a hold full of rares, to
the Eleu Energy Corp.

found this site its cool if you are trading, http://inara.cz you can put in your favorite stations and systems and see best route between them, or if you are in station you can see where to go next with the highest
profit.

Interest in the game: (What are the activities/roles that appeals you the most?)
BGS at least for this character. PvE, occasional PvP

How did you learn about SEPP?
I met Cmdr Vantis during Lough times, it turned out we both went there because of the BGS.
Cannot remember if we were on the same side or not! Made friends list either way.
Technically I have already help defend SEPP - in early days when Cmdr Vantis was opposing people in EU timezone.

Why are you interested in joining SEPP?
Recently Myself and one other CMDR have been playing freedom fighter against Contrail in Anlave. No support from the Fed player groups.
My fears about Hudson are correct - not getting my vote in the future!
I really enjoyed the intensity of trying to take a 150+ player group on with just a resource of 2. The outcome should have been obvious but I am stubborn.

Are you associated with any other groups in the game?
I am on the Contrail KOS list if that counts.

You will start training with SEPP and knowing the group and the systems, immediately, for a week long period, after which you can decide if you still feel the SEPP is the group you want to call home. This is mostly a reference time than anything else, as once you are allied to a faction, there is really no means for us to remove you. But we are also aware that our play style, might not be the play style you are looking for. Please take this period to get to know us and understand our activities, to make a better choice!

Fair enough. I will do whatever is asked.

In the meantime, and if you are already in our space, this is what you can do:

-Run Missions Issued By SEPP in the following stations: Robson Port in MECHET, Song Outpost in ALOWIS, or any of the outposts in NAITA or HIP-84696 .

-Do not run missions requesting to kill an specific "character". More often than not, they are heavily guarded and it takes powerful ships/players to take them down, regardless the "required rank" showing "Harmless". Not true!

-Hostage Missions are currently broken, do not run them. You simply won't be able to complete them because once you get the hostage, the missions disappears from your transactions tab.

-If you don't see available missions right away, just wait some 10 mins and check back or, travel to one of the other stations listed above.

-Get familiar with the markets, stations and the commodities. Learn about the factions, and also the economy types.

-If you are in Powerplay, we encourage you to drop out of it. But if you still want to stay in it, and you are not pledged with Edmund Mahon, then you need to keep away from SANTJALAN and ELEU (The Twin Systems) or you will be "interdicted" by his enforcers. Even if you are pledged with Mahon, the SEPP spirit is to be independent of all powers, and all allegiances.

I pledge to serve. Looking forward to doing what I am told

-You can still work your ranks in the Empire and in the Federation. But for that you need to run missions issued by them. Running missions for other factions that are not SEPP, WHILE IN A SEPP SYSTEM, is counterproductive. We advise to run your rank progress mission from any of the neighboring systems where a Fed faction is present, and then back to SEPP Space.
Already Admiral 100% Allied Rep for Fed and Duke (no ships afterwards) for Empire - not fussed.

I hope my application is acceptable.

Simon

Hello everyone, I am a quite new player and I just stumbled across your thread.
I'd very much like to join you, since all I do ATM is bounty hunting for credits. So why not do it (and other activities later) with the additional purpose of establishing and defending a place I can call "Home" in this vast, hostile and chaotic galaxy? :)

In-Game CMDR Name: Lord_aNOOBis
Time Zone: UTC+1
Your Local Regular Play Times: In the Evening around 8 pm - 12 pm, at weekends and holidays sometimes more, depending on my scedule.
Age: 26
Platform: PC (+ Hotas = Fun!)

How Long Have you been playing Elite Dangerous? - About 2 Weeks, in game time about 26 hours. So not much.

Do you own Horizons? - Not yet, will buy it when I start exploring.

Ranks: (Combat/Trade/Exploration - CQC Not Needed) - Novice - Peddler - Aimless. :p

Allegiances Ranks: (Empire/Federation) Neutral

Are you pledged to any Powers? If so, which one? - Not pledged to anyone

Current Ship(s): Viper MK III

Interest in the game:
- (Bounty hunter) missions for credits, PvE dogfighting, at the moment I am just hunting pirates and it is fun. ^^
- Not so much interest for PvP, but ready to defend against enemy players if necessary
- Finding a Home system I can use as a base of operations (check? ^^)
- Basically just learning how the game works. :p

- My long-time aim is to become an explorer and to join some community projects (like Distant Worlds or the Galaxy Mapping Project)
- I know mining and trading from eve online or the X Series and I'm not so interested in it right now, maybe at some point of time later.

How did you learn about SEPP? - As stated above I just found this thread, while I was reading about the Distand Worlds Expedition.

Why are you interested in joining SEPP? - One thing that I wanted from the start was some kind of group i could join and a place (system-wise) that I can call "Home". Also, supporting a faction of my choice and helping it spread sounds like a lot of work that brings a lot of fun because many players are working towards a common purpose.
Additionally, the SEPP systems are quite close (about 10 Jumps) to my location.

Are you associated with any other groups in the game? - Nope

As advised, I will travel towards Eleu, get familliar with the area and will run some SEPP and Federation Missions (but no missions from other factions/character killing/hostage missions)
Hope there will be some nice bounty hunter missions. :D

I'm looking forward to hear from you (should I message someone or write something in Discord?)
Lord_aNOOBis out!

Okay, thx for the Informations. :)
Guess there will be a Conflict if the SEPP faction in ELEU grows too strong?

You won't have to teach me how to play, dont worry. I will figgure it out. ;) But any Faction related Stuff is new for me, so any hints and warnings about that are really welcome. ^^

I cant promise that I'll make it to Eleu and into discord today but as soon as possible.

From: Minister for Economics & Trade.
For SEPP eyes only.

My market analysts inform me that Gold can be bought for a very good price from Helms Hub, Dhathaut.
Profits in excess of 1600 cr/T have been reported.
This faction is currently in boom, so this is likely a time-limited offer.

Hello Lord Anoobis,

Welcome to SEPP. Thanks for your application. Please proceed to HIP-84696 to run missions from SEPP from there. That will make you gain points and rep with our faction.

CMDR Adept Geraden and CMDR Ross will gladly help and tutor you into our ranks. Due to timezones difference, you probably won't get to see me or Red Barron in game outside of weekends. BUt we are pretty much connected to Discord through the day.

Hope to see you soon in SEPP Space cmdr!

May the Eleu star shine bright for you!

/Kancro out.

I have also updated the thread in the bug reports forum.

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=227827

rant time .... sorry explorers and people who want to do their own thing in minor factions BGS, FD is busy with CQC, powerplay... no time to work on things that make this an open game where you actually contribute and do your own thing for your home system... cookie cutter charaters mahon says bla bla bla,..... duval bla bla bla... power play bla bla power play ... get more rep... grind grind ... here is your ship ... keep on grinding to keep up your rank... its so rewarding watching a picture of your leader with text so inspiring....

We interrupt this broadcast of current Galactic Computer Influence Tracking Systems bug reports to bring you the news.

Yes folks the news. Any rumours that the news department had gone on permanent sabbatical are clearly false.

Reports are coming in that civil war has broken out in Naita, between the low-life anarchist pirates of Naita Camorra and the only slightly more savoury venture capitalists of League of Naita.

Whilst the Camorra do control one of the two outposts in the system, officials from the Social Eleu Progressive Party have commented that they don't care at this stage who controls the outpost, although if some of their combat pilots had itchy trigger fingers, and wanted to dust off their combat ships and cash in some combat bonds, at the SEPP controlled Whitson Colony (caution: no large pads), of course, then they are free to do so.

One traveller, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed that conflict zones are present and active in the system.

We now return you to your regular programming.

Apparently I've been booted from discord. Can't log back in. The instant invite from the first post won't work either.

EDIT: just requested a password change, and got a message about the servers being down. Excuse my paranoia.

27 Authority vessels were lost in a RES site near Sinclair Dock. What was a routine pirate patrol turned into a blood bath, wing after wing of vipers and eagles were lost in under 2 hrs. Only one managed to escape heavily damaged. He stated“The ship was heavily armored, shielded, and armed. We were unable to take the shields down the anaconda also rammed our ships and attacked pirates at the same time ignoring our attack as if we weren't there, it was crazy”.

A gold military Anaconda is a main suspect, only information from the scan shows it's as a federation ship with no faction. HIP 96 pointed a finger at SEPP. ELEU denied it's as a baseless rumor with no facts. An redacted image was released from an unknown source showing moment of impact. No CMDR has taken credit for the attack.
