Patch Notes September Update - Downtime and Patch Notes

The livery and store are clearly broken - lots of missing items.
In Livery I saw the paint jobs I owned a few other ( not all ) but I've just played through the training simulation - now I'm back in my ship and I go to livery and - nothing - no icons for anything ( no icons for paintjob / decals / bobble heads etc. ).
Hi Miles,

Some Game Extras may not yet be available for purchase in the Store, affected items will be rolling back out in the coming days.

Please note that the Store is currently offline.

We hope that clarifies!

I don't like to be the one whining bout new updates... I get it, computers are complicated...... updating is a process... need to be patient, it looks much easier from the user perspective.

But allly !?!?! Next update the brings almost nothing for the players ( 17GB on XB) and ruins the game. I expected that livery will be rubbish, that store might not work... I get it, it's new. But stored modules eng ??? If I lose any of my precious modules modification, that I grinded like circus monkey for months I promise to take my transport Cutter feel it with 704 tonnes of Biowaste and blow the thing inside of Jameson Memorial!!!!

Bug fixes... and still can not synthesis ammo to the enforcer cannons.

Don't get me wrong I love the game and I am far from stop loving it, but maybe DEVs should stop fixing it.

The new training seems to work quite well and should be a better experience for new starters, as to getting in game itself so far just hitting orange sidewinder x100. Really love patch day and my Krait is just sitting there somewhere so if someone has nicked it i'm gunning for you.

There is an annoying bug where I get a "mission target located", or "mission failed", or "incoming mission critical message" message well AFTER I HAVE ALREADY failed the mission or abandoned the mission. Is there an absolute terminate mission that could fix this? These messages continue to randomly announce when I am in supercruise and come into contact with the abandoned or failed mission.

Crikey, FDev went above and beyond to break stuff that wasn't even mentioned in the patch notes.

QA is so bad it's kinda funny really. In a not so funny way... I mean, if that was my job, I'd be properly ashamed right now.

Oh well at least chatter in ShinDez seems a tad more lively tonight.

Corrected the date of Atticus Obellan Duval's ascension to the throne in its Tourist Beacon

Meanwhile the Alliance capital system still says ACHENAR in its description. Been that way for half a year now, despite of multiple reports.

I don't know, I mean = with a wide variety of "unintended features" in the new patch, and so many threads showing up on the forums that the Devs are trying to play Wack-A-Mole on, we should be glad it didn't get changed to read "Sol."

... I get an error when miming LTD's. every time a fragmet reaches the cargo hold -manualy or by limpet :
CONNECTION ERROR
unrecoverable error on transaction server.
Error Code Black Adder.
Press OK to return to main menue.

Everytime Fdev do an update I rush to download and try it - every time I get network and connections issues, but generally the features work and I'm pretty happy (except they never have enough servers ready handle the update day rush )
Today I had the opposite experience - no network errors or disconnects, yeah :) so I get to try the new features - doesn't take long:
  • Chevrons on speed gauge - nice and they work.
  • Training simulation, 10-15mins of mild fun, I'll probably never do it again. I didn't learn anything new ( been playing for years! ).
  • New Livery - broken, missing icons, missing paintjobs, a complete mess, last attempt at using it I got nothing, literally no icons for ship or SRV!
  • New Store - missing paintjobs and items, broken link to pay site so can't buy any Arx any way.
All in all not a nice day one experience of this tiny update.

I'm a player pirate, and I disagree with you.

The block function was always meant to allow people to enjoy open without specific people making it suck for them.

Also, currently, if I run into a combat logger - I can block THEM, so that I never have to see them blink out of existence while I am making my piracy inquiries.
With all due respect, the fact that someone has to agree to be pirated after already agreeing to log into open is absolutely stupid. Especially with how spread apart the playerbase is. Now I have to lower the amount I request from people not because I'm worried they'll try to run instead of giving up the cargo, but because I'm worried they'll just block me if I ask for more than they want to give up. Its dumb, wholly counter intuitive to the idea of being a pirate, and completely ruins the risk/reward balance that makes piracy fun. The entire point of open play is that anything can happen to you and you're never sure about what the other CMDR is going to do. Blocking should have never done more than restrict chat communications, instancing restrictions on top of that is redundant with PG/solo and actively makes open play worse for everyone involved. The last thing Elite needs is a more split playerbase, its already split between open/solo/PG, now open is being fractured into many more pieces.
