Patch Notes September Update - Downtime and Patch Notes

That 'PRESS [J] TO DISENGAGE' is really p***ing me off.

This is the kind of immersion killing thing that FD keep introducing into this game.

I now feel like I'm flying a keyboard, instead of a ship somewhere in the milky way.

Already took a six month break ... and come back to this :(

Glad to see bugs getting recognised. Will have to test it to see if they have been fixed. I was getting the interdiction AI disappearing act recently.

I wonder if we are going to be able to see our current cargo capacity in the missions board. Am I missing something? It's just that when looking at cargo delivery missions, there is no where I can see on UI that tells me how much space I have in my cargo in real-time, without exiting the mission board to go look in the commodity market, then losing the cargo mission as it resets when I go back in. That is something that can so easily be overlooked, I can tell, but would be something I'd love to see.

Please, if there's a key I don't know about that brings up my current free cargo space whilst in the missions board I'd love to know. At present, I make sure I check every time I dock first, then jot it on some paper, but come on.... lol

Consindering this is a solution to a problem, that exist somewhere near priority z, and the current consequences, I am inclined to say: I'd rather deal with the problem instead of this solution.
I actually had to stop playing now since it was annoying me so much. Please take the toddler wheels back off FD

There has always been a concern about ED's learning curve .. but it would be nice to think that after they're redone the new player experience, veterans might get an immersion pass later on?? Expect I can learn to live with this because it's a long time since 'safe disengage' really registered in my brain but worth saying, I'm not the biggest fan of it either.

I wonder how many devoted, long-term players have quit because of this "little" screw-up?

I won't quit, love the game to much, been playing since 1983. That being said, FD need to take a long hard look at themselves and sort this poo out asap before too many people pack it in and move onto other games. I certainly won't play it for a week or two until they release an apology (which they should), and some sort of working meaningful patch. Maybe this will motivate them to realise what a giant cluster it was to not have a beta process in place

No need to go to the commodities market, your cargo space is displayed in the right-hand panel.

They could have done it so that the keybinding disappeared after the player had reached the next rank or after using supercruise 25 times for example.

Also, it's as if FD think that all PC players use either gamepad, a Saitek or keyboard. For the rest of us, "JOY 5" is meaningless.

Looks like an extremely console-centric design choice to me. It's really easy to imagine that this prompt was implemented by someone that does not play the game, and that it was not tested at all.

How to play? Teach me?

Remember WoW? At least you had to run thru three scenarios before they handed you the keys to the kingdom. It at least taught you the basic mechanics of it all. Here I'm sure most new players go from paying to saying "I don't need no darn instructions".

Sequester them, FD. Make them get their wings before you kick them out of the garage.

Man if you go into any kind of sim for the first time and don't look at the controls first and use a little bit of common sense, you shouldn't be playing it.
