Server Dev Peteris: "while delay for FC is unfortunate, it's for benefit of the feature... make it as good and fun as possible"

Pecisk is working for FD?
He was to ED fanboys what ED fanboys are to normal people.
I had many a tussle with him on these forums in the early years.
I certainly remember the "Magical Mystery Dev Build" debacle when we were in the Gamma phase that he was adamant contained the rest of the actual gameplay because most people couldn't believe FD were releasing ED in the state it was in during Gamma.
Turned out the "Magical Mystery Dev Build" didn't exist and we did indeed get the game many said wasn't ready for release.

Must be a dream come true for him. Congrats Pecisk, you mad man.

Careful, your facts are going to get in the way of their propaganda narrative!
The entire "corrected bug-list" of over 1000 items would be an interesting read as I do not count the misspelling of a word or improper punctuation in a menu item to be a "bug".

So he's a promoted fanboy then? In that case, I'll take it with an extra spoon of salt.

Oh, and yes, I remember those times too. The fabled "vertical slice". Even before the game actually released, there was, hm, rather optimistic speculation.

I call your bluff (to be polite) FD.

Community letter gave you the excuse to postpone FC's again for reason it was certainly not working or still bugged AF.

And for all the fanboy hoping something from FD, they didn t care for years about bugs but suddenly they do ? And, friendly reminder that Beyond was already supposed to be the update to correct bugs.

I let you all dreaming peacefully.

Well, there's always one big problem with the future. At some point in time it becomes the present. And soon(tm) thereafter the past.
And we've been there. Been there so often already.

It's a valid Option for legit/honest companies without a track record like the one FDev has attained and manifested that many aren't even surprised anymore.

But with FDev, it's almost always the future. Carrot & Stick... Carrot & Stick... "looking awesome and making outstanding progress - but can't talk about it".
"But wait, we're super excited so look out for an announcement. It'll be in the future. For shiny, exciting and amazing content coming in the future. Stay tuned and thanks for your dedication!" (Quote, your friendly generic PR outlet for the Ministry of Truth - aka Community Manager - of the time)

In the future... in the future... in the future... That's all I ever hear around here. It gets old. Got old a long time ago. It's grown a beard by now.

Maybe they should reconsider renaming the company.
Frontier Developments (FDev) becomes Future Developments ( FDev - soon(tm) )

PS.
I was wondering about a simple question : whom do they plan to sell the 2020 DLC to? Literally... whom?

For the most part, the target audience is their existing Customer/Player base.
So tell me, what are the odds of a disappointed (over and over again) Player base with patience running ever so thin... tossing more money at this very company?

Might be just my imagination, but slowly closing in on that costly (and for FDev hopefully profitable) DLC, as a Leader of such a Company my biggest concern would be at or near the key benchmark "Customer Satisfaction".
"Keeping the troops happy" comes to my mind.

Right now, they're miles off track to do that. I don't even know if they're even headed that direction.
Interesting business plan that must be...

It's both - they aren't mutually exclusive. A broken game would mean a feature won't be as good nor fun as it can be.

Example: Multicrew. Its disconnections and instability mean the turret and SLF gameplay isn't fun (it barely works due to the former issues).

Multicrew is bad since its conception.
A turret camera is the worst and stupid thing they could have thought.
FD doesn't have the greatest minds when it comes to gameplay.
