Set condition Mauve... The Hutton Mug CG looks like it is live....

Good news is that traveling to Hurton is at such a fast speed that enemy PP pilots can't catch up to interdict, so being in a hostile area hasn't been a problem yet.

Fell asleep last night near to, but not quite, at the half-way point. Went cold and dark and hit the sack... I'm too worried I'll overshoot and end up fuel-less a billion miles from anywhere... tomorrow will be soon enough to deliver my 200 tons.

This is a great CG!

Just had our first(?) Hutton Fuel Rat rescue!

Cmdr Freethinker fell asleep at the wheel and ended up adrift in space, 470kls the wrong side of Hutton. When I arrived on the scene Cmdrs Lazrien and Firebrand83 were already on route to the station. As I was already parked there I took off and headed out towards the client, who logged in just long enough to deploy a beacon and thus give me a heading and distance (logging out again immediately to conserve remaining fuel/oxygen). I then kept my heading and tracked my distance from Hutton until it hit 470kls, parked up and deployed my own beacon for Lazrien and Firebrand to follow.

* time passes
* I crack open the first of my 7 crates of gin
* Lazrien arrives
* I report a tragic loss (failure to re-scoop the second crate of gin)
* time passes
* Firebrand arrives

With three rats now in approximately the right location the client logs back in, forms a wing, deploys beacon and prays. We're 100kls off course and hit SC fast. Within a minute we've dropped to the client's beacon. My first fuel limpet fails to go in (it just impacts on the surface, knew I should've turned off my targetting computer) but Lazrien quickly managed to get the next one in and the client is saved.

Yay!

I subsequently lose the "last one back to Hutton buys the drinks" race and dispense G&T's all round.

Just another day in the life of the Fuel Rats.

Fly safe commanders.

Right! one of you volunteer to self destruct and the other two will sell you for scrap - deal?

And Cmdr Freethinker's report can be found here:

Apologies to Cmdrs Remyzero and Orange Sheets for neglecting to mention their part in the rescue.

Our roll of honour is growing now.... We have had commanders e-mail us with entries and screenshots of their progress and the link below is of those who are proud to have helped:

http://huttonorbital.com/HallofFame.aspx

If your name isn't down and you'd like it to be - to be in the draw for a mug, or just to boast loud and proud - simply e-mail us a screenie of your involvement at itookpart@huttonorbital.com

Thanks so far to over 700 commanders who have dropped at the station.

Just been chilling around Hutton with a few other CMDR's, up to 14 in our instance.

Games and fun were had whilst waiting for the medium pad to become free, this included hide and seek, getting stuck in Hutton's infrastructure, staring contests, chaff parties and rather inappropriate spaceship actions.

Also good to see so many people arriving in Anacondas and T9's to give scrap away to anyone that wants it. Keep going folks, nearly hit Tier 1 (or so I hear :p).

Does anyone have time for an experiment - I wouldn't have time for this until Sunday, but I think that if you do the following:

1) Get 1 Type 9 and 2 Pythons with limpets.
2) Run an experiment to see how long the 2 Pythons take to empty the type 9 and bring the cargo into Hutton. You might have to do this in a private group as I've heard that limpets malfunction a lot with lots of commanders around.

If you measure that time, we can then calculate whether it's much more efficient to use a supply chain like this to complete the goal. Of course, the T9 owner won't get any credit but maybe you could swap roles each day or something.

Once proven, someone would need to coordinate the supply line so that we had enough pythons for the number of T9s available.

If the T9 can be emptied in less time than the Pythons make a round trip (or half the time if there are two of them(?)) , you have proved that it's more efficient to complete the goal this way (at least I think so).

Edit: I would be happy to be a T9 for the experiment but I probably won't have time till Sunday or so.

I'm still about 4k LY away... I should be back today or tomorrow. Then it'll be a matter of getting and kitting out a T6 and I'm on my way to help!

If I bring a limpet controller can I replenish limpets at Hutton or do I need the limpets as well?

Also in your experience would I need the biggest sized / best limpet controller or will a small one suffice?k (in a T6)

Mate,

I've spent 3 hours trying to give away 532 tonnes of the stuff. Still have 431 Tonnes left.

People don't want to scoop. And no-one is pitching up with limpets to speed things up

Hey!

Sorry, I didn't see your offer for scrap until after I'd jumped out just recently!
I wasn't paying enough attention :p

I'm 0.15 LY away, inbound. Willing to exchange some of the stuff for a few tons of the Gin.
