Set condition Mauve... The Hutton Mug CG looks like it is live....

If you've done 15 runs already then that might seem doable but if, like me, you've just completed your 6th run (or less) then doing 4 more runs seems pretty unlikely. I'm curious what the average number of runs is. Might try to work that out.

OK, so we have 2,964 contributors shifting a total of 2,057,646t.

That's an average of 694t per person.

I'm flying a Python and have 168 cargo capacity. That's on the low side because I've left my ship combat ready (guns/shields/etc) and Fuel Rat ready (big fuel scoop/limpet controller/limpets).

In the last 24hrs we have 3,197 ships, 2397 of which are either Python (the most popular), Type 6 or Asp. Let's say the average capacity of those three ship types is around 180t (generous?). Since 26% of ships passing through Hutton are smaller let's round down the total average to 150t.

So, 694t average delivered divided by 150t average capacity.

I make that about 4.6 runs per person on average.

With less than a day left it seems VERY unlikely that we're going to do 4 more runs each.

Don't let that deter you tho!

If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through!

Calculations by a guy on Facebook estimated that we would hit the final tier if every contributor made 4 more runs - doesn't make it sound so far out of reach.

I admire your optimism - but when you say it like that it sounds tantalisingly doable! :D
Heh, I fiddled with the calculator a bit too... Assuming Tier 5 is only 1 million tonnes more than Tier 4, we'd need only 1100 Python CMDRS haul 3 loads of 280 tons each to reach Tier 5. :)

But if Tier 5 is double the amount Tier 4 took, no chance whatsoever.

In theory you are correct, but one thing's for sure. Giving up at this point will ensure that we don't succeed. Pushing hard gives a very small chance. Realistically, we need more commanders joining which I am trying to push for on another thread.

I flew to Alpha Centauri last night after a 24 leap journey and finally arrived a little battered and bruised...so I need to take scrap to Hutton Orbital? Knew this journey to the far flung outpost was arduous but the onboard computer says 3 days to rendezvous!!! Am I right in thinking this is around 30 to 40 mins of game/flying in hyperspace time?

Seemed especially pertinent :D

I plan to do 3 Python loads this evening - the first one is already "only" 0.15 Ly out from Hutton Orbital.

About 90 minutes in total with speed peaking at c. 1,860c at half way.

It's about a 90 minute journey in real time. The counter screen is misleading because it only gives the time at your current speed.

Just floor it and wait 90 - wave to any other commanders you see along the way.

3 times as long as I'd anticipated!!! Not for the faint hearted then...wow, better go back and fill up the hold! See you there.

Thanks for the update!

EDIT: made it safely to the star, no griefer around it. A commander reported no problem at the station as well.

I have to quit, work beckons...for now. But I will be back for the final run in tonight! Big thanks to Yaffle for being with me on my 22nd run. :)

I Managed to do a run to Hutton orbital from pad launch at Readdy Gateway in Wolf 424 in approx 89:50:06 minutes
Flying a python timer stopped upon landing
would be interesting if anyone can beat this time.
Throwing down the Gauntlet.
Every Millisecond counts! and you have to jump to wolf 359 then Alpha Cent.
The Hutton Run time trial

ETA 8 minutes and 610,000Ls to go. Absolutely no one in my instance. I'm on the US east coast.

By the way, why is everyone going to Wolf 424? LHS 380 has scrap, the station is 1,400 Ls away and it's one jump from Alpha Centauri.
