Well I only managed to get 3 runs in over the last few days due to time restraints but at least I transported 600+ tons of scrap and at the moment in the top %30 which isn't too bad considering.

I am back! Ok I have no idea if I will make the top 5%. To be honest I don't care, not after this many (23) runs but I will try to get a few more in tonight to help it along anyways. T6? Teeee Siiiiiix? Yes its that time again and stop looking at me like that! I know the scrap stinks but at least it's not bio or toxic waste (that would be worse MUCH worse) and we are almost done so look on the bright side,...well as much as a bright green T6 can look on the bright side..Um...I promise I will clean your paintwork and cargo bay,....um.......SOON(TM)! [LIE] :D

Tonight was my first convoy, did the previous 17 runs in open on my own. 2 battlecondas and an armed tradepython (mine :) ) took an unshielded T6 'under our wings', arrived safely and unloaded in peace. Then we guarded the station, while the code (which I'm not giving the honour of capital lettering!) tried to lure us out out of the no fire zone. Quite cowardly, I must say. I was deeply disappointed by their 'pirateness'. Got killed twice while trying to lure them closer. That was fun! Especially seeing some 'pirates' fleeing. As I had no PvP loadout, they could flee with hull damage. And me with a respawn at Hutton Orbital :).

Will we have a party at HO tomorrow night? Can somebody bring beer?

TL;DR: we achieved our objectives so we won, the code failed - and we had fun!

I have to say this community goal has been amazing. Considering it consists of pointing at Hutton and sitting for 90 minutes I've had the best time in Elite! Hardest bit is to explain to my wife what's been keeping me so busy!

Rapidfire your selfless sacrifice has allowed other to make it through. If you took any pictures of your journey send them in with your story and I expect they will hopefully enter you in the competition.

On the active community goals thread, JRB is looking for a commander(s) who are prepared to scoop up an Anaconda load of scrap in 3 to 4 hours from now.

Nip over to that thread and help him out if interested. I have posted the instructions for how to achieve this using limpets but also small ships can help. Let him know if you'll be around.

Just got interdicted by a wing of Cmdrs above Hudson Dock.
They are claiming that the system is currently under blockade.
I did not make it. Will try some other time. It is getting very late in Europe.

61 is crazy, I am on 21 and I have a full time job, 20 runs is 30 hours just on the SC in to Hutton, I reckon I am nearer <looks over shoulder> 50 hours.

I gave a whole working week to this goal for free (whilst working too), looks like someone did something right, I blame the radio station myself (crack FM :D).

During a Beta too (that I have access to), geez where did it all go so wrong right :D

PS the bar looks like its 25% to 45 allowance, I will hit 5k on this run (10 runs was my original goal, just dropped number 20!).

Watch out CMDRs, the force is strong in these "Huttonists" :D.

We are going to need a lot of our "friends to the west" to hit 45. Now I will avoid negative (lol how negative can 30 Mugs be?) and just say...... I will do AT LEAST 1 more run, more likely 2.

PS

If I don't win a mug can I buy one (obviously after proving being a part of the CG), the sticker is cool but I would be interested in the Mug (as a few thousand other CMDR's might too), sorry if I opened the floodgates to a lot more work for the Mug admins.

I might even order a spare, damn sure I wont be taking either to the office, I like those people but they would never pay it the needed level of respect :p

Bad luck Teldja - we will drink to your memory and console ourselves that your fine sacrifice allowed others to make it through. If you took any photo of your journey or death, send them in to the CG so you can be memorialised. If you have time to try again before 10am UK time tomorrow, all the better :)

This has been an awesome event guys!
Almost there on my last run with another 220T of scrap.
Thanks to the guys from Hutton Radio and, of course, to Frontier to make this all possible!
Never thought staring at a pixel for one and a half hours would be so much fun! ;)

I'd always recommend a refueling stop at Al-Din after you arrive in Alpha Centauri. They should rename it "Last Chance Gas".

BTW, on Interstate 90, somewhere there's a truck stop with a huge sign that almost caused me to have an accident:

"Eat here and get gas."

Somehow I feel there was a double meaning to that sign, but I can't quite put my finger on it. ;)

Just re-loaded with 36 more tons and parked at Al-Din. Will wait until after dinner, re-log in and start another run tonight. I'm predicting that around 20,000 LS out the server will drop out from under me again like it has for the last 5 runs.

There: I've jinxed it so now it WON'T drop out from under me at 20k LS out. Either that or I've got to go wave a dead chicken over it. That drop out is getting pesky, especially when I'm trying to wing with someone.
