Engineers Shield + Booster Mod Calculator

So if you want your resistances as high as possible, use those thermal resistant shields and thermal resistant reactive armor to get the best starting values across the board before adding shield boosters and hull packages.

With the help of the good folks over at EDShipyard, I've finally got around to updating this sheet for 2.203. Enjoy.

The Fantastic Mr Fox strikes again! Everyone, rep this earthbound demi-otter-god of resistance calcs!!

REP YOU FOOLS, REP LIKE YOU'VE NEVER REPPED BEFORE!!!

Very nice.

And speaking of shields, I've noticed a number of CMDRs are putting 6 and 7 boosters on their ships and no heat sinks. Why is that? At least on the big ships, you can't put on enough boosters to present a stronger defense than a couple of heat sinks and a high quality shield bank. Or has something changed?

Feedback cascade railguns. However 6 or 7 boosters is still of questionable value IMO.

Why do I keep getting emails requesting access to this? Is it suddenly not publicly available? Seems to be working all right to me.

I reckon it's because some/most commanders don't make a copy of the spreadsheet they just use the one in the link in the OP, as that's owned by you they have to request access through google docs/drive, I got some myself after I posted some shield/booster builds.

Try turning on public sharing on the document as the default setting appears to be for specific named people hence the requests.

@ Frenotx I know this is an old thread & I have no idea if you are still look at it.

Thank you for your great tool for understanding shields & shield boosters. I only discovered it a few days ago.

Unfortunately your google doc appears to have been altered (probably by someone saving over it, rather than downloading before messing with the grey boxes). The first two shield boosters have been given a base value of 72 rather than 20 (for A rated booster), the third is 30 rather than 20 and the forth has a 17 thermal resistance but otherwise seems alright.

It took me some time to work out, as I configured my Python's shields, why the the spreadsheet was giving high values compared to in game values. Ho hum

Just thought you may want to know... Thank you again. (y)
