Ship docks, CQC structures and other new in-game assets

Now added in a new section in the OP. I payed the place a visit, it's awesome - I'm staying there to do a spot of bounty hunting in the nearby RES sites. Took a few piccies too.

Nice pics Alec! :)

The Knights of the Black welcome you to our sector. Feel free to pop into any of our local stations for a beer (we don't get many visitors out here on the edge!)

Cheers, I really like this place - quite tempted to come back with a mining ship (seeing as how ALL the missions here are mining missions).

Not sure what this is - Crashed Ship (eagle) on Brokutsu 3 A - POI shows within 1000 ls as usual, ship is at a small settlement with a data point, few mats scattered around and a sob story on the ship data core. Could it be a tip-off mission target I just stumbled on - I didn't think they had POI?

Tip-offs show as POIs ... but usually only after you've visited them. Curious...

Did the POI start of as a Search Zone on the planet? Have you had a Tip Off mission and ignored it, or deleted it? As in both cases if you get near a planet that was for a Tip Off mission and don't accept it, it will still show up when you get within the vicinity. Have you had anyone else go to the same place to see if it also appears in their instance?

It does look very much like assets for a Tip Off mission.

But what do I know, you're Canonn are you not?

Nice! I've stumbled on a few wrecked ships like this before, but never so close to any kind of structure POI. Also, only ever got a ship-core credit in transactions, not the Pilot Log story. Maybe it was a tip-off then? I think tip-offs are usually persistent though. still there after logging off and returning?

incidentally, has anyone else noticed these types of ship wrecks (still rare) can be found if you spot a search and rescue NPC ship circling an area?
I found several early in 3.1, 3.2 by this method. I don't remember getting a blue POI for them, but eyeballing the area from the air they can be spotted. HARD to see though, so hover and eyeball with zoomed in 3rd person camera. Otherwise SRV and follow wave scanner.

One particular planet had about 4 in one night. still smoking wrecks of DBX, Eagles, Sidewinders, all with ship-data-cores. some even guarded with skimmers and trespass zones. none persistent.

I really should have posted on forums, because it was pretty cool, and definitely felt new. Do have pics somewhere.

Nice, these sort of little bits of attention to detail are one of the things that make Elite so great.

Ah - I think I know what's going on here.

Tip-offs have POI if you've visited them before. That includes if you visited them before on their previous cycles of appearance - I've just had the same happen to me in Los, where I found a tip-off there very early in 3.1, then it disappeared as they do ... and now it's back again.

Wolf 485A - Lowell Class Science Vessel (Bulk Cruiser)

Distance 4.92 Mm

Chemical manipulators and other stuff floating here...

THAT guy scanning me...

Just EXACTLY how do i find this Ship.I went there last night and searched for ages and didnt find it.

P.S. if anyone spots the BD-12 1172 megaship appearing (from the recent Close Encounters CG) could they let me know. I'm aware I've probably fallen behind on cataloguing new things here but I'm particularly interested in this one since I love that system!

Heheh, Just saw your comment on the stream Alec. Guess there is no point keeping track of installations and mega ships.

LOL - yeah, for those that missed it - while talking about the new scenarios and BGS changes coming in Q4 Adam said something along the lines of them adding hundreds (did I imagine that, did he actually say "hundreds"?) of new installations and megaships!

We'll wait and see I guess but I'm half thinking my work here might be done.
