Then I guess buying the upgrade early, buying the cobra in the beta was a real waste of time and money. Thanks for your replies gents. I've just found the first thing about FD that es me off. Can't stand being taken for a ride like this. Yeah, I understand the whole beta crap, this isn't my first rodeo. But what I read and what we wound up with are 2 entirely different things in my opinion.
It wasn't a total waste of time and money... I see you submitted a beta bug report (Planetary Delivery Mission: Transport Clothing to Marconi Survey). Cheers for that.
But no, there was never any "progress" to keep. Ships in beta cost a fraction of their proper-game cost, so...
(a) it would be nonsensical (and "pay to win") to allow Beta Access players to buy up Cutters and Anacondas in beta,
and
(b) it would mess up testing efforts to have 100% persistence and full price everything in Beta. People wouldn't try stupid stuff, or save-game resets, or buy the niche ships.
So, no. Beta isn't a way to "progress" the main game. It's a test bed. Try stuff out, break stuff, muck around, report issues, give feedback.
That's it.
