i really enjoy playing ED:O and have played for a very long time.
Changing ship modules, engineering, and having NPC crew mates is nice.
The biggest issue I have is not allowing the ship internals to be customized. Why can’t a size 7 slot be broken down into 2x size 6 slots? As shown with the 6 vs 7 vs 8 cargo bays, a size 8 is 2x the size of a 7, and a 7 is 2x the size of a 6.
It would be awesome to expand engineering to allow the modification of ship internals, both Core and Optional. Don’t need that size 7 optional internal? Break it down into 2x size 6. Don’t need that size 7 sensor? Break it down into a size 6 and combine the extra size 6 with the size 6 fuel tank to allow a size 7 fuel tank,
Also, allow a number of SLF’s to be launched equal to the fighter bay installed. Size 5 is 1, size 6 is 2, change size 7 to 3 (or 4). Each bay holds 8 fighters. Having 3 NPC’s would equate to massive XP split as well as taking a large portion of earned credits.
It would make the fighter bay a lot more viable in many conflicts. A lot of time would also be needed to train the NPC’s and would take longer the more you have because of the XP split.
