Ship Naming

Naming is all well and good, but what about these?

Cool. Finally.

Obviously it would be better if there was some kind of delay involved, for like immersion - perhaps we should be forced to file our ship names at Hutton orbital. ;)

Edit: speling

i can't believe they are working on shipnaming, when we still have not even a confirmation for cockpit cats. nobody needs shipnaming, you'll anyway never target your own ship, or see it from the outside. the game will be dead very soon because i heard that that other game has already cabin chimpanzees and thruster dogs AND will include them in their starter pack. it is time, that FDEV listens to their player base.

About time. Way to wait till I need to come up with 27 different names Frontier. Luckily I'm only missing 5 names atm so I could figure out what to name those.

I'm currently docked at an Orbis station named Cummings Dock in CD-86 4. Ships with silly names can't be much worse than that. I've said it before and will say it again, real world ships have silly names as well. I live in Miami. I see stupid names on boats every time I'm near a dock

Cummings Dock is named after Alexander Cumming, inventor of the flush toilet (really: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Cumming).

Ship naming sounds awesome. What's a good name for a heavily-armed 730m/s boost Icourier. I'm prepared for jokes haha so let's hear it. Or should I say read it.

In proper tradition, ship naming should be completely RNG. Random Name Generated. Here comes my Cobra "ö ejrpqwcjrü3 j4kr" MkIV.

Additionally it'll be interesting if you can apply a prefix to your ship to give an idea as to what it is, ie MV (Merchant Vessel), IMV (Imperial Merchant Vessel) etc.
