Ship Naming

I wouldn't mind ship naming, but aren't there far, far better things for FD to spend time on than this? Atmospheric landings for instance. :D How about a better crime and punishment system? Or combat logging? Or even NPC's that aren't borked? <Insert issue here>? :)

In my case a Cobra.

Is it like this?

I'm currently docked at an Orbis station named Cummings Dock in CD-86 4. Ships with silly names can't be much worse than that. I've said it before and will say it again, real world ships have silly names as well. I live in Miami. I see stupid names on boats every time I'm near a dock

I didn't say i opposed the idea. Just a bit torn ;) But i'm sure i can survie seing the "SS George Bush did 9/11" suiciding into space stations. A minor hit to my immersion won't break the game :p

As much as i think the idea of giving your ship some personality is awesome. It is almost inevitable to not come across ships named "SS y0l0sWag#420" and the likes. So i'm a bit torn on this

Know what you mean, but don't quite see that to be any worse than a commander named after a certain german dictator.
Which is in game, so peculiar naming rules in place at best.

I'll reserve Boaty McBoatface.

Damn, got here too late.
Guess I'll reserve "Shippy MacShipson" (calling it Shippy MacShipface would be too close to it being called 'really really drunk' in swear words [downcast] ).

Cockpit Cats! - Yes please, pretty please.... Also Talking Parrots that can be trained. Devs - please drop everything else this second and concentrate all efforts on this money spinning (for you) add-on for the cockpit. I mean Commanders would pay through the roof for that Parrot (especially when it starts saying "Pew, Pew, Pew." when the guns are firing and "run away, run away" when the shields go down). [hehe]
