Conclusions:
it's a better short range fighter, it can now be tagged as a "luxury" ship thanks to the new power-plant, but it still can't be tagged as a "high end bounty hunter" ship it's even worst to travel with it.
I'm gathering you are referring to bounty hunter as in hunting down criminals and the lack of jump range makes you unable to easily travel after criminals over long distances, but why would you really need to do this? I mean once you have found a good place to res hunt that's where you are, and if hunting players, then i'm sure there's plenty on the systems within easy range? so doesn't seem like a flaw?

Thanks for the updates guys :)

Does the above mean that the panels are being returned to their original sizes as per 1.4?

The original (premium beta) smaller size is so much better than the monstrous great things that we've had since 1.0. An option to select the size we want would be nice. When exploring it's nice to be able to see the hologram of the target rather than having to keep closing the nav panel every time.

Well. If a player or NPC high wakes out you would be able to follow. At the moment, not a chance. Actual bounty hunting would be for you searching someone, that someone possibly noticing you and trying to escape and you trying to follow, not mindlessly farming RES sites. The following part is kind of not possible right now, with a supposedly dedicated bounty hunter ship.

The option to choose the size seems really quite necessary as there are more than a few people who already stated their problems with the smaller panels.

Still cannot play Beta! Game freezes at loading screen! Please FDEV fix this issue. This problem still isnt solved... :-( I didnt pay for beta, just to look at loading screen...

For RES, the FdL works fine...actually, even the Vulture or any combat capable ship works fine.

I won't comment here how dull and immersion breaking RESs are (what the hell are these Anacondas doing among asteroids crawling with police? Don't tell me they are after stealing a few pieces of rock???)

However a Bounty Hunter should stalk his target, follow it, then take it down. I really would like to use the FdL for:
- Finding a target (PvP, player!) leaving a station.
- Using a Frameshift Wake Scanner to scan his wake (extra utility mount of the FdL come in handy).
- Follow him until he reaches his destination system.
- Interdict in supercruise. Then chase him (speed of FdL comes in handy) and take him down.
- I may need to follow his wake again, if he jumps away.

This sounds much more exciting than blasting mindless NPCs at RESs, right? But this can't be done for the simple fact that FdL has a jump range too short and can't follow anything... :(

The FDL Buff is welcome, However for those asking to increase the jump range, remember it's a short range fighter, and a very good one at that.

Bounty hunting means track, follow and destroy a target. Patrolling a RES or CZ is not a boutny hunting, it is just patrolling.
Bounty hunter ship should have a small tank (to have low mass, and FDL have small tank), so if you want to travel it would require additional tank or fuel scoop, BUT, it should have a possibility to make a good ONE or TWO jumps to short follow a victim after scan a High Wake.

It is NOT a fighter and it never was, mate. It is luxury bounty hunter ship for rich assassins (source: Elite: Legacy). Fighter is a condor or Eagle. Short range patrol craft is a Viper. mid-range combat ships are Vulture and FAS.
FDL have a different role, and in my opinion it should have a small fuel tank, but reasonable jump.

Won't disagree with the comments regarding the mechanics of bounty hunting re. the FDL, but the new heat management means fuel scooping is extremely fast (I have a 4C scoop), and I'm easily able to get over 200 kg/s. The tank refills in no time at all, so it may still take a few jumps, but the wait between jumps is very short indeed.

we really could need "large hauling" missiosn where it is like: deliver 200 Food to station X. and then ti doe snto matter if you have 400 t cargospace or 50, it will just define the amount of trips.

I never understood how stations demand like 2 osmium while the demand of their market is HUGE. such stations should request like 100t osmium. allowing you to turn in up to 100 osmium as a mission. And the outcome of the mission is relative to how much of that missions demand you have delivered.

Agreed. I think this needs to be a mission often seen in stations with huge demand for commodities. Especially Terraforming worlds and recreational outdoor worlds (Tourism).

Not just a short range fighter, it's supposed to be the bounty hunter ship.
Frameshift Wake Scanners should be used by bounty hunters.
The FdL, with its current jump range, cannot use efficiently FSW scanners.

the amount of armor the small ships are getting now is absolutely ridiculous, follows the good ol' whining "Viper should win 1v1 anaconda" desire fullfilling. HRPs need to work as the armor reinforcements do; add just a given % of the base hull, not an arbitrary number

seriously, they're fixing one thing by breaking seven
