Is there any way to improve the volume of the ship's computer? She'll sometimes say something and I can't catch it and have no idea what's going on. I expect if she says something it's important, like I'm about to melt from being too close to a star, or someone's locked weapons on me or something so I desperately look around to try to figure out what's going on. I've tried cranking the volume on ship's computer to the max but it made no difference. I also tried slightly lowering the music and sound effects but her voice just went down right along with them. I think it's tied to the sound effects volume. I need to get it much louder. Anyone know a way to get her to speak up?

You can also change the effects, music and just about any other volume, as well as enabling/disabling individual computer phrases.
Also, everything the computer says can be read somewhere on the screen too, so you're not missing anything (unless you've closed your eyes or walked away from the screen).
It must be something with my system I guess. I already tried messing with the controls in the audio options but it didn't improve. I tried google after I posted here (should have tried that first, really) and found a lot of people complaining about the same thing. They said it got broken in one of the recent gamma releases. Someone suggested checking the speaker optimization and switching it from home theater to basic speakers. I'll try that when I get home.
If what she's saying shows somewhere on the screen I must have missed it. I'll pay closer attention next time. That would pretty much solve my problem for the most part though the whole point of having a computer speak to you is so you don't have to take your eyes off of what you're doing.
