The whining is about to start.
Indeed... You've seemingly made a valiant start!
The whining is about to start.
I'm not even going to comment on that suggestion!
Doh!
But joking aside, if we assume the split is even just 50/50, you're suggesting FD complicate their entire business model to make half as much money?
Actually, I was just taking the Wee-wee out of the other ideas to try to force PVE-centric players into coercive non-concensual PVP.
In the end FD will do what FD will do, and while long-term, I believe it'll be beneficial, I have no such faith that it'll be a painless journey for the community.
Apologies for my humour failure then![]()

probably been suggested already, but, how about a PVP flag like in World of Warcraft which can be activated by choice but also automatically when the player engages in PVP activity (i.e. attacks another PVP flagged player) or acquires a bounty
There is already a defensive PVP flag. It is called "Power Play".
The main reason no one uses it is because of the nuisance factor of being incessantly assaulted by suicidal foreign NPC agents in our utterly lawless home control systems.
open PVP
open PVE
that's all folks
There's no need to remove Solo and Private Groups - unless the intention behind it is to force players to interact with other random players - something that the design of the game has not done from the outset.
Also, removing Solo and Private Groups would probably cause backlash from those players who bought the game for these advertised features - I doubt that Frontier would want to revisit the Offline Mode Cancellation scenario (except worse this time because players who were told that they could play in Solo instead of Offline would no longer have that option).
