I can imagine most gankers wouldn't even bother interdicting it knowing the speeds a stripped down viper can go.
You really have to admire dedication some people have. Reminds me of me getting interdicted in an iEagle, same story pretty much. Couldn't he see the first time around that the ship is boosting away from him at three times his own speed.I had a very silly guy chain interdict my CMDR's racing viper with a corvette when I was swapping around some Engineering secondaries.

It's not so much you expect to catch that Viper but that once, long ago, an overly confident pilot of a fast ship decided to take a pass at you and you rammed him to death (or something similar).
And so you begin a quest to experience it once again.
I always read of those noobs, carebears and non-PVPers having wrong specced ships to fly their missions, trade, mine or explore. So there have to be a shipbuild being able to do all of this, while being ready for combat PVP-style whenever it might happen.
As being the OP, meanwhile some things have developed:
as before, my Colonia mission ship "The Tragically Hip" (my favourite Band, that nobody else seems to know ;-)) is a Python. I now made her more survivable, if interdicted by some real persons. Well...I realized, that every interdiction of a NPC (which I always, always avoid, if I will, but I will not always, because I made this ship more survivable...;-)) that I accepted, the pirates (even in Wing) scan my ship, and after I start to open hardpoints, they turn and fly away...
Is that usual AI ? Seems to be so....
It is a better feeling to fly a ship that can stand some damage...
