@Bigmaec did a scientific test on that. Do we love scientific tests. Anyways, clean drives produced more heat in SC than dirty drives. It makes sense as they use more power and are not really used in SC.

Just put dirty drives and be done.

How to get the shields of your exploration ship right?

It's quite difficult to land in high-G planets without damaging your hull this way, even the worst of shields will be enough to absorb the damage and prevent any non-repareble hull damage. This, in my experience, is clearly rubbish. Hell, you don't even know how to repair your own hull.

Thats exactly what i was wondering.Is there anything special about silent runing mode or just 0% heat and the same as using a heat dump or thermal vent.

Yes, 0% heat will still show you on the radar. You will be there showing as an unresolved target, enemies won't be able to get a lock on you. With silent running, past 500 meter, you are gone
