Simple Guide for Unlocking all of the Guardian Tech

Yes it is. Ive been doing it and ive been away from game for a yr. Came back recently and have successfully been doing it. Ill be back there tonight getting more now I fully understand the shortcuts. The weapons one is the easiest. The module one springs more guardian drones, so make sure you have enough mats for re-ammo and refueling. Oh and the PD's on your ship to counter the drone missiles are a godsend.

I've taken the time to make my own spreadsheet to share before I start unlocking everything. I've entered everything in reading directly from the game (other than the FSD Booster which I've already unlocked) and there are changes from the pic the OP posted, most notably the power distributor. Also I've added the fighters.

Using this you'll be able to make your own copy so you can:

  • Zero out the mats of anything you've already unlocked (or delete the column) to remove it from the total
  • Enter in your current quantity of items to see how many you need and the % of the total you have
  • Click on the name of many materials to link to where to get it (eddb or video)
  • Easily edit the unlock requirements if they get changed in an update.
  • Add new items that are unlocked (I'll try to add them)

Anyways I hope this is helpful :)

Good stuff Dizzy B High Thanks a lot!

I'd like to add some bits and bobs to this great guide.

First of all the guide is still relevant on 4 Jan 2019.
I do it only to unlock the Guardian modules and don't care about Ram Tah's mission at this point.
I've started with the SYNUEFE EU-Q C21-10 Planet A3 site and have not been at the other yet.

Things that I've noticed and might help others:
- The obelisks at point A are all broken and inactive, therefore nothing to scan there on this planet.
- The obelisk scan data can be collected anywhere else in the galaxy, the source is irrelevant. I've just finished Ram Tah's first mission and my storage is literally full with them so I didn't have to scan any here.
- There are 2 landing spots where you can safely land with a DBX and any bigger at the upper site (upper on the image).
- There are 1-1 sentinels spawning at the upper-left, lower-left, and lower-right pylons. Marked with purple dots (two alternative spawn points each) These are good to practice on or just to get the materials you might need.
- The sentinels are slow, predictable, easy to kill and annoying af. The point defence defo helps a lot (I've had only one on the "forehead of the DBX" and got hit by prolly 3 missiles in total in all fights together.
- The sentinels cause fairly small damage and easy to avoid it... well as long as you fight only one. 3 pips in weapons and 3 pips in shields is a safe setting, I was running 2/4 most of the time, my shield never went under 60%
- The sentinels drop 3 kinds of mats the rest can be collected from the structures without a fight. These are from the targettable "destructible panels" on the dark structures glowing light blue. I marked them with orange circles. (except the one at the lower-right pylon because there's a sentinel spawns each time)
- The mats from the structures were fixed drop for me (need confirmation). I marked each type dropped from the "destructible panels" (also orange). For some reason, I missed a lot of Technology Components so did some extra runs after having all the Blueprint Fragments. A single run for the 3 TCo took about a minute each time yielding 9 actual pieces (3x3), no fight.
- The 5 Guardian Relics marked with blue square dots.
- I marked the active obelisks with pink circles.

Also I found driving the SRV with default setting on keyboard+mouse is a nightmare on these sites. This nice commander helped me a lot in his youtube video
In short, switch the drive assistance OFF. (I have no trouble with drifitng)

Thx for the howto.
Bit the bullet and did this 2 days ago for the fsd booster.
Mat collection is soul crushing.
Also, I hate the SRV, I never swore so much playing a game before.

I learned two good tricks with the SRV. 1) speed kills, never need more than 2 pips unless you are doing a sustained jump.
2) I always use turret mode when navigating the ruins and fighting. It makes it feel like more of a mech and less like a car.

I'm having problems finding where the puzzle stars is it something obvious?

If you look at the 2nd Map where the letter B is, just to the left of that you will see the structure, its a big v shaped thing.

You just need to drive in front of the structure and a floor panel will activate.

On the first map the structure is all the way over on the right hand side.

Found it thanks on the first map, I thought I did it tonight got to my blue glowing ball, missiles flying everywhere I used the D-Link scanner on the ball a couple of times and no blueprints.

Not sure what I am doing wrong as it was a bit of a mission getting it done as I am rubbish at ground combat.

Can't pick up blueprint

I'm seeing this too. I activate pylons, kill all Guardian Skimmers, jettison the artifact, get the glowing ball and I get credit in the Codex for the scan, but no guardian blueprint. Am I missing something?

Went back tonight with a Python and 6 SRV's and went and did it fully 3 more times and only got 2 blueprints.

Also when mining for parts from the breakable panels sometimes the cargo wasn't being registered correctly, I had to get the "final" piece 3 times. Good job I checked my inventory before heading back to the bubble.

But anyhoo now I have got a feel for this and got a whole lot better at ground combat. One run takes 1/3 of a fuel tank and 3/4 of my ammo on 1 SRV and about 15 mins. Of course those missile have knocked me on my roof a couple of times and I had to wait for them to shoot me to flip me over, unless there is something I can do to right an overturned SRV?

Anyway thanks for all the info I know have a FSD booster, when I get back from DW2 I will need to work out how to get the obelisk data as I couldn't see any at my location.

keep in mind you can only scan the orb once per login, so make sure you relog between each run.

Missiles knowing you over can be a pain. One thing that helped me is vertical thrusting barely above the ground right before the missile hits, that way if the missile is coming from about it just pushes you back onto the ground. If you do flip, use your pitch and roll thrusters to right yourself.

Unlocking Prismatic shields is way worse of a grind IMO than unlocking a Guardian weapon

How so?

Guide to unlock Prismatics shields:

1. Pledge to Aisling.
2. Do nothing (i.e. anything else you enjoy doing) for 4 weeks.
3. Go undermine an enemy system: Res site or NavBeacon, keep killing enemy ships (main menu relog to spawn more) until you've killed exactly 25 of them (it takes about a half an hour). That's 750 merits.
4. On the next Thursday buy all the Prismatic Shield Generators you need.
5. Unpledge and forget about the blue haired hottie once for all.

Half an hour of killing weak NPCs isn't really
much of a grind. Yeah it takes a month until you can lay your hands on the loot, but you don't really need to do anything PP-related during that time.

I did relog every time inside my ship and launched a fresh rover, on the 3rd run I got my relic ran round did everything went to drop the relic off and the relic had disappeared from my inventory, I wonder if it has to do with these glitches that have been reported elsewhere and is a part of a bigger server issue since the last patch.

when you board your ship the cargo gets transfered from the srv to the ship..... when you launch your srv again the cargo remains in your ship, unless you manually transfer it.

install a point defence on THE TOP SIDE of your ship, and that will take care of missiles automatically, even when you are in your SRV.
