Simple question about VR

Sorry if I came across as calling you a liar, I'm not, I'm just double and triple checking before a potential purchase.
The reason I'm surprised is because of the thread that lists a bunch of issues.
Yes, there are issues in Horizons eg billboard smoke and lack of second level orbit lines in the FSS but to my knowledge, everything renders correctly in VR .

The reason I mentioned SRV is because of the abovementioned thread where there are a couple issues involving shadows and rock scatter, I mess about in the SRV all the time and there's not those issues in Horizons.
To add to what Ratcatcher has said, I’ve only been able to confirm about 30% of the issues listed, which is frequently the case. Many bugs are hardware and driver dependent, or require rather unique circumstances. It’s one of the reasons I’ve always rolled my eyes at people who insult Frontier’s (or anyone else’s) QA department as if they’re not doing their job. They don’t have access to the huge variety of PCs out in the wild. Which is why I always make sure to test my machine’s performance when I get the chance.

I will find fault in Frontier’s management’s repeated failures to do any long-term testing with the community, especially when it comes to providing testing incentives. I can’t test my rig if I don’t have an opportunity, and I’d spend time testing aspects of the game I’m not interested in if I had reason to do so.

I'd be perfectly happy to 'test' the game updates before they get released, I have plenty of 'free time' to offer! My PC is pretty high-end, laptop lower mid-range, so a balanced arrangement to offer.

I'm always happy to support tickets where I can see the issue, I'm never entirely sure if it my own lack of observation or just good luck when I 'miss' quite so many ;)

Currently, I'd suggest that if you don't have top of the line CPU / GPU to wait to buy EDO, that is perfectly honest, EDH still has 50% greater FPS than EDO in most comparable situations. If your PC doesn't have a huge amount of overhead available when playing EDH the experience in EDO is going to be less than excellent.

I'll go back out to play more in the SRV later today. I've been having fun getting my 'spare' account off beginner levels so have been playing mostly pancake for a week or so.

My Colonia account will go out for a joyride and look at both atmospheric / barren rock types and I'll pass an opinion on. I may have just not noticed anything sufficiently jarring to remember. If I see obvious issues not associated with the current performance / lighting ones, I'll make note of them here.

Edit: typos
May I ask what headset you're using, what GPU and what resolution you have for EDO?

With regards to SRV driving, that is my primary test when I try Odyssey after each update. If you drive at speed, it is still unplayable. Rocks render right in front of you. Lighting is all over the place. The surface is continually shifting. I don't have performance issues, but then I have the hardware to chuck at it.

Horizons does have issues, but they are so minor that it doesn't affect my SRV driving.

This was my most recent test:

Well recently there's a lot of interest around VR... see the metavers. There are companies that started to develop a lot for VR, including apple. So Braben's idea of VR is becoming very anachronistic.
I don't mean that VR should be a priority now but it should definitely get a higher priority on fdev roadmaps since it is already in the game.
