Simple question from an idiot

I was out of the game for a long time, couple of years, and when I came back I went out exploring around the fringes of the galaxy, which very much tends to be my thing. Didn't have any interest in the Thargoids; when I'd left, they'd just been the... whatever the things were when they first came back, you know the ones that suddenly appeared and scanned you and then left if you weren't carrying stuff they were interested in.

But I watched that Auraxis Animus Thargoid storm video that's been circulated and, you know, it actually looks very cool (and not anything I knew was in the game).

So, my question is, when I get back: is there anything I can do in that kind of area which can be done entirely solo, or is it all stuff where you need to team up with people? I am very antisocial, never had any interest in communal play outside of the odd organised expedition.

You can play alone, you can access the content. But it would be better to do it with a group.

You will also need to do some preparation, regardless of whether you are alone or in a group. Therefore, in my opinion, there is no harm in going to AXI discord and asking for some help for basic preparation. (if you want)

I accessed all of the spire area pretty much solo. The only thing that I wouldn’t recommend too much is trying to fight the Revenants around the surface locations… which you can still do solo, too, mind you. Just need to put some care into it, and maybe I’d recommend a Scorpion SRV to that end.

The Orthrus, well, it doesn’t really fight back anyway, but there’s a fair bit to be done that does not involve combat in the slightest, too. Though you may still get shot by the occasional Scout spawn and the aforementioned Revenants(the Thargoid equivalent of skimmers).
