Skimmer kills registering 2 to 1 . Clearly its is not as intended.

Skimmer missions registering as 2 to 1.
Killing one skimmer registers as 2 kills.
I took 10 missions but only had to kill half of the skimmers to complete all of them.
Clearly this is a bug.

Damn, I loaded up on high value trade missions last night to do this afternoon. Looks like I should be doing skimmers again. :p

Yes I submitted a detailed bug report. It seems if you take missions of the same number it will register 1 kill per mission. So if you take 5 missions to kill 12 skimmers you only need to kill 12 skimmers to complete all 5 missions.

OOooh, that little beauty is back. I'm pleased. :)

This was the default case when these missions first came out. Every skimmer kill registered for every skimmer mission you had. It was 'fixed', there was much salt and crying, and kicking of dogs.

That's intended, as long as the missions are from different factions.

Like with most other types of missions that do not involve actual objects, if you do them for different factions they stack... if you do them for the same faction they do not stack.

Which isn't really a bug, it's just being politically savvy.

Can't see how it's a bug. This is how:

Osama bin Laden blew out WTC.
Faction 1 (US Gov) issued bounty for 1 terrorist
Faction 2 (NATO) issued bounty for 1 terrorist
I picked both missions, terminated the target per missions requirements (terrorist 1/1)
And only one faction acknowledges that while other refuses still claiming I didn't fulfill their contract?

Ofc, granted that every skimmer mission was aiming for the same place, single kill should count toward completion of every mission taken.

This was my reasoning back in the day as well, why I reasoned AGAINST changing it. I agree. As a mercenary you can definitely collect confirmed kill payments from multiple govts for the same kill in reality. Massacre missions should work the same way as well.

Erm, that is how it works at the moment.
One kill counts for one mission of each different issuing faction.
If you have 1 mission of faction A, faction B and faction C, each kill will count for each faction.
If you have 3 missions of faction A, 1 kill will count to only one mission.

Interesting. More detail on ancient history...

I'm sayin that when the missions were first added to the game, every skimmer counted toward every mission, regardless of mission giver, jurisdiction.

In 2.4 for a time, what you say was not the case, except under a certain unusual circumstance which I never did manage to put my finger on (some kills stacked to completely different bases and factions for no apparent reason).

If it is as you say now (I stopped doing skimmer missions before 3.0 dropped), then that is a recent change (and a welcome one). I'm actually more keen to get this change reversed for massacre missions.

Hmmm a way to do missions and get credits faster and get people to enjoy the game? THIS MUST BE STOPPED!!!!! this thread.

It's actually been that way since 2.4. I cannot say whether skimmer kills counted for missions to different factions / locations, as I never took any, always took as many as I could find from different factions to destroy skimmers at a specific base and from a specific faction, and they always stacked correctly.

Kills counting towards missions at different locations would seem to me to be a fairly obvious bug, and the fact that kills counted towards multiple missions from the same minor faction was always said by FD to be unintended behavior.

I thought that massacre missions also worked this way, but don't do many, so perhaps they don't.

That's true for some of missions actually at the moment (pirate killing sprees). I personally wouldn't mind apply same logic to skimmer missions as long as balances and checks are in place.

It is true for skimmer missions. Has been since 2.4 (maybe even 2.3 actually).

Missions from different factions to destroy skimmers from a specific faction at a specific base will count each skimmer destroyed against all the missions. :)

Ahhh, here you go. Curse you FD not writing everything in changelog :D

I didn't do a lot of these even back then, so I'll take your word for it. :)
