Proposal Discussion -SLAVES in ED universe-

Not for the slaves, it wasn't!

Sorry to bring it to ya man :(.

head over to eranin, azeban station and check out the two unidentified signals close by..

on more than two occasions this evening the smaller hauler appeared in the instance. after some serious damage to the hull it'll give up its precious cargo including slaves. sold for a hefty profit on the black market at freeport @4k+ per unit. nice little profit run, even after clearing bounty.

that is all

I came across the very same scenario, unfortunately there was also a federal security ship at the scene so didn't risk scooping myself some slaves to trade

At an inidentified signal source in Aulin today I found a Hauler, with a wanted status, and when it was already damaged it started dropping canisters... after the fight I checked and saw they were all full of slaves. I did not collect them because it is where I draw the line. I might smuggle drugs but not engage in slave trafficking.

I hope there will be a way to set the slaves free in a Federal or Independent system. Curse those Imperials and their antihuman slavery!:p

So you left them in the cold void of space with no means of ever being found? You sure are a saint....

Until they give us a means to outright "Free" them, just 'sell' them at a station. Just imagine that the payment is a collection of missing-person rewards and gifts from families that are reunited with their loved one.

Do I remember right, that in the original Elite you could hoover up escape pods and they would turn into a canister of slaves?

What happened to escape pods, anyway?

I can see this turning into a totally new mission type - emancipation!!! The pay would suck, but you'd get a sweet top hat and a statue made in your honor :D

If I recall correctly, 'official' slaves of the Empire have to be transported in passenger cabins, are treated as valued commodities, and are usually in a form of indentured servitude after which time they earn their freedom and I think citizenship. Either that or criminals working off a sentence.

Unofficial slavery is the scourge of the spaceways and the refuge of the true scumbags... That said, I wish I knew they were worth that much. I popped a L-6 full of them, but had no idea where to sell them, so scooped up the personal weapons instead!

Gonna hunt more of those babies. ;)

Not everything has to be worth a lot :p.
I mean isn't that part of the whole selling stolen goods on the Black Market?
That it's a gamble if it'll be worth the risk?
Atm I think prices are pretty solid on the Black Market. They don't change a lot if any I think so just keep in mind whats worth much as you sell stuff there.

Sorry for ignorance here (noob to this latest edition, new beta commander!) but if you pick up canisters that have been dumped by someone, don't they scan you when entering a star port and flag them up as stolen with a quick trip back to the Sidewinder for your efforts?

I've been doing honest trading up till now so haven't crossed the wraith of the law yet!!!!

I pirated some narcotics last night ... a whopping 72CR per tonne on teh black market.

Risk / reward needs, err, tweaking.

In this game, Narcotics are literally cheaper than Wheat Flour.

I found canister of ´´Radioactive Materials´´, and then ´´Dangerous Waste´´ canisters.
Also saw a mission where you transport ´´Botanical Drugs´´, I'm not sure if that trade good is in the game yet. (as in produced at a station)

Also I saw a few canisters with Crisis-Gas-Grenades.
