"Snap" transitions between modes/panels tiring in VR(?)

By which I mean when you switch modes/panels etc it just flips instantly from one to the other. In VR I'm beginning to find this tiring, not exactly painful but certainly irritating. Particularly when doing something that requires a lot of transitions e.g. refitting a ship in outfitting.

To the point where I'm switching back to 2D for such things. PITA of course.

Anyone else find this an issue, perhaps FD would develop a fade transition just for me!

I never found this to be an issue to be honest. If it bothers you, can you not make your own fade-to-black transition by closing your eyes during the transition? It works for me during one of the few things that make me VR sick - searching for a system name close to the galactic center in the galactic map ...

I should have mentioned I do often close my eyes, especially when taking off the headset.

Hm. I'm not sure if I understand it correctly, but I have turned off 'automatic display of panels' so it doesn't obscure the view when I look in that direction as well as bound it to some new keys. My head isn't snapping to a panel when I activate it, I have to turn my head and look at it manually.
Is this what you're asking for?
