So ... about pattern colors?

Is there an option to pick different pattern colors for our dinosaurs? In previews we have seen the ability to change base skin color and the pattern, but there is no option present for pattern color. Granted the game is in a development build, but I believe we would all be disappointed if our pattern color is set to one color we can't choose. Will there be a third tab to change our pattern color? Maybe we have to build our dino's genome more for pattern colors? What are your thoughts on this?

I'm unsure either way due to the gameplay shown being solely from development builds that were tweaked to make everything easier with little content to show off the base mechanics and a handful of dinosaurs. It's hard to judge what the full game will actually have.

I'd like to assume the patterns have their colour changed based on what base skin you apply. Otherwise, 7 pattern options is severely limiting.

I don't believe that's the case, if we look at the Ceolophysis field guide, they have differing base skins yet share the orange patterns.

I am more confident after rewatching the stegosaurus field guide that we will get to choose the color, for the stegos share the same pattern yet have differing shades of purple in the stripes on their plates

Thanks I appreciate it! Holding on to that hope!! Imagine all the options with pattern colors too!
Another thought I had was once you discover the skin color genome, you unlock both the base and pattern color for that specific color
